Where's Gilley's at? I looked at the site, but I guess I don't see it.

Y'all come visit me me when they put me in the Home, okay?

    Chris -

Of course, we'll visit you. Hell, we'll all probably be in the next room.

I believe Gilley's is down there near the Farmer's Market. That part of Downtown. That link was for Mardi Gras. Google "Gilley's" and you can see the map.

fbf started a thread about an apostate tribal dance....britian led with their shining example here:

    nice.

But come on....everyone knows no one can kick up their heels like TEXANS (and their friends that party with them ) so I think we should get a video of US doing this dance so the world can see who totally ROCKS and who totally DON'T.

So is there one near Los Angeles, Calif? I'm back in Mexico until a week before. Might try and attend to meet some peeps from here.

    I propose this again.

Dave & Buster's. We don't need a "special" room. We don't need a buffet. Let everyone be responsible for their own food/drink/etc. Apparently, D&B would have no problem accommodating 30 people. Do we have 30 people? Several have expressed little interest in the game itself. There are plenty of TV's in the bar area and several distractions (pool/shuffleboard/games) for those who aren't that interested in the game.

It's not like it's the big dinner or anything like that, is it? (reference Sonny Bryan's last Memorial Day weekend). Even if we had this shindig in someone's home, you know good and well, not everyone would be sitting down watching the game. There would be little pockets of people milling about the place.

Those that want to hang out together will hang out together. We don't need to rent a space and be forced to pay $15 for a buffet. Especially, if you have children. Good grief, it better be a lot of food and a take out box too for $15 worth of appetizers.

Maybe I'm off-base here, and I have no doubt that I'll be reprimanded, but it just makes better sense to me. Valis, I appreciate all your efforts in doing the legwork in this matter. I really do.

    Arrow:
I still like the sound of that, too - four solid hours of football would be enough to fry anyone's brain!
With the money I'd save I'd be able to buy our District Overbeer a drink

I'm still happy to go with the flow, though...

I like D & B's because it has lots of fun things to do.

The positives are that it's a good size place, lots of small TV's in the bar area, lots of pool tables and games, huge video game area.

We could reserve one of their rooms and it's $50. Not bad but they want to put everything on one ticket which makes one person responsbile for the bill. Nobody wants that responsibility because of a few snafus in the past. So I say we could just swarm the place and have a good time. LOL. We can eat when we want, drink when we want, whatever. That keeps the costs down, nobody has to be responsible for collecting everybody's money, we can play games, watch the game, whatever.
