Well I know we're meeting at Dave & Buster's on Sunday for the game. But other than that, I'm clueless!

I know I am leaving people out so please lemme know. I am just about to walk out the door and do some recon at Dave & Busters. It looks like we can get a big room w/a wide screen projector for $200 and they have several buffet options I will get to you on later on today.

Friday: Open and probably be the day we fetch, meet & greet everyone coming in...Also I thought if some wanted to later on we could go out for a drink and check out the motorcycles at either Spikes or Stroker's. Both cool bars very close to Bradford. Or we could go down to the West End Pub where we went last time before Sonny Bryans...right next to Sixth Floor Museum and Dealy Plaza.

Saturday: Maybe breakfast @ Market Diner and then PARTY @ Hemp Lover's house with Sizo...w00t!

Sunday: Dave & Buster's for Super Bowl and then who knows?

So, there's a tentative schedule for our retentative friends out there..

    Sincerely,

    District Overbeer

Wait ... what was that middle part again?

OK friends...I've done my recon today and here's my take. We could rent a room at Dave & Busters for $200 plus anywhere from $15-28 for buffet service, plus the cost of drinks. OR, we could go to Christie's where I also went today. It is a smaller place than D&B, but they have some games lots of TVs. We could get several buffet options for avbout $14 per person or less depending on what stuff we wanted to eat, plus the cost of drinks. I'm going to call the guy from Christies in a couple days to make sure he conferred w/his boss about having us there for Super Bowl, but it seemed to be a better choice than D&B. If anything the guy there @ Christies said we would just have to show up early, which I doubt will be a problem if that needs to happen.

    Christie's

Appetizer Buffet: $10 per person, additional appetizers $1.50 per person

    Messican Buffet: $10 per person

    Pizza Buffet: $10 per person

    Sammich Buffet: $10 per person

    Fajita Buffet: $12 per person

So, if some want to chime in and help decide then by all means do.Otherwise I'll carry on and make arrangements in a couple days.

    Sincerely,

    District Overbeer

is anyone willing to room with a poor lil' Futher Mucker? Or possibly even someone willing to take on a boarder for a few nights? I'll pay premium rates .

the trunk of my car is quite roomy FMZ.....it's a steal at $20.00 a night too...hey I might even run a cup of coffee to you, after I have had my first two of course.

Who all is getting a room anyways? I think your list is outdated Valis cause I know Sassy said she can't make it after all, do we have many out-of-towners still coming?

Oh and on the room and food for Sunday, put my vote at wherever it's cheapest

    ok...here's my two cents.

Do we have to have a buffet? Can those that get hungry just get some food? That would reduce cost significantly. Also, with the large gaming area at Dave & Buster's those of us with children (who have no interest whatsoever in the game) can let them go play the games. Is there something like that at Christi's? Since it is the SuperBowl, I suspect that no matter where you turn there will be a screen with the game on it.

I vote for Dave and Buster's with no buffet. <only recently getting a regular paycheck and would like to see everyone however would rather not pay $15 for an eggroll >

The only proble arrow is that if we are all sitting together D&B is not going to want to do that. I'll go with the majority, but also at D&B there are not TVs everywhere, unless we rent one of their platform areas which are by the hour. If you aren't going to eat that's OK, no problem there, but when you get that many people together most restuarants want to keep it simple and not have 20 million checks flyin around.

    Sincerely,

Xena... don't worry about a cup of coffee... just bring the pot and I'll amuse myself for hours.

    Erm... coffee pot... yeah...heh

First of all, thanks O Beloved District Overbeer for the reconaissance. Truly you found a land flowing with milk and honey.

But look! Jennie wants to know if Christie's has video games (such as Pac Man, etc.) which are acceptable for kiddos. It's been many moons, but if I remember correctly Christie's has video gambling but no games per se. Certainly if we are going to do a buffet and a centralized area for the wandering apostates, Christie's makes more sense.

But (and you know there'd be a but didn't you!), let me just talk this out for a bit. What if we all just met up at D&B? The plus side I'd see is

    • those that want to eat can
    • those that want to play video games can
    • more family friendly
    • if there is no buffet, no one gets stuck with the extra bill at the end

    The negatives I see are:

    • no guarantee we'd be able to see the game
    • no guarantee we'd all be seated together, thus defeating the purpose of going there
    • possible large crowds besides us.

So I guess we need to decide exactly what we're wanting out of this little shindig. As for us, we can find friends/babysitters for Jennie and Jackson, so we can go to Christie's or D&B and be happy little apostates. It seems to me if we want to get together and some of us hang whilst others watch the Colts drill the Falcons, then Christie's is a better option.

Would it be possible for those that do not want the buffet don't have to pay? Or is that getting too complicated?

    Chris
