Do they even realise how disgustingly immoral this is and how badly it reflects on the God they worship?

So instead of helping, he "patiently" waits till you are at your absolute limit, and only then does he help!?

Aaarghh excuse me I take exception to that statement "only then does he help"The facts and history are proof that this is a big fat lie.It has never been demonstrated that a God , any God has ever intervened in human affairs on behalf of humans .(And please lets not quote the Bible here ) If your thinking about this lets have a more modern day experience.

    ....cannot go anymore...

    I use Exlax.

So, on the one hand relief might not come immediately but imaginary sky magician is 'eager' to help. Contradiction, methinks. Me also thinks, 'empty words'.

Keep believing the propaganda, keep the 7 deadly sinners in Warwick in rock star luxury.

Any intervention in the form of miracle always happen in past tense?!, not in present sense. It's only story brought forward to the present from the past where no witnesses are necessary.

    Cold Steel
You asked: “Why are we here? Where did we come from?”

Answer lies in our very name—human being. The highest state of spirituality is at the level of just being—with no prejudice, no complex superior or inferior. Our normal state is joy. A person in this state of joy is in harmony within and without by just being aware of the present moment. Learn from the past, plan for the future but live in the present, aware of your real Self within, the Principle of Consciousness which is like axis to your body. When it enters, body starts functioning, and when it exits, body stops working; and this has been happening from time immemorial. What was into the past infinite, and what will be to future infinite …. is not our concern because there is no way we can know. We know everyone is sustained by the same air, water … This is true of everyone, which gives us reason to love others as ourselves which would attract good relationships towards us, which would in turn make our lives more meaningful.

    Great thread!

Yes, lets illustrate it this way.

If your young child has severed his arm and it is hanging by a thread, do we sit and wait at home while he writhes in pain, just to see how long he can endure it. To see how he can build character?

Or do we immediately, with the greatest of urgency get him medical care, and ease the pain and repair the damage?

Jehovah likes to see how long people can endure it. Then he wants PRAISE for himself too.

And remember that everyday thousands of new babies are born...all of which need to live a life that will be full of pain. And Jehovah is cool with that.

stucky - Jehovah likes to see how long people can endure it. Then he wants PRAISE for himself too.

I've been told this so many times. He won't let you endure more than you can bear. Tell that to my DF friend whose daughter committed suicide at 15. That poor lady has had to bear more than most people could ever cope with and the pain goes on and on for her and what compassion did she get from her congregation? Nothing. Took the elders over a week to be even bothered to check on the family and when her life continued to fall apart they DF her.

Words are cheap and this day's text is meaningless.

Job is a good example of being helped.Poor bloke was used as a martyr.l often wonder if god was put on a death bed in severe with one day to live if things would be different.Probably not.

This is why I look at the book called creation (not scriptures which are human creation; hence contain misrepresentation of God). Look at the weight of our head. An adult head weighs around 10 to 11 pounds (4.5 to 5 kg), yet it is designed and fixed in such a way that we do not feel the weight of even one gram on our neck. Contrast this experience with moving a dead body when you happen to catch its head, and see how soon you would feel tired.

Interestingly, neuro-scientists unwittingly add another dimension to the easiness with which we move about because of the particular way our brain works. They say human brain not only processes more than a million messages a second but also weighs the importance of all this data, filtering out the relatively unimportant. This screening function is what allows us to focus and operate effectively in our world.

A God who has shown such loving care in the design cannot be blamed because of misrepresentations in the scriptures. If humans have to endure, there should be some other reason without God being dragged into the scene.
