At least someone is going to remove BETHEL SERVICE from their career options. For what it's worth.

JW.ORG | BRITAIN - FINANCIAL NEWS - SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE GOVERNING BODY OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

Theme: "Making the Best Use of Donated Funds"

Follow JW NEWS on Facebook: FB.ME/JWNEWS

    TO ALL CONGREGATIONS IN BRITAIN

The Governing Body has directed that a number of branch and Assembly Hall construction projects be delayed, reduced in scope, or in some cases, cancelled. In the case of our branch relocation project in Chelmsford, this will still go ahead although it will be reduced in scope. However, Kingdom Halls will continue to be built or renovated in proportion to whatever the brothers are able to contribute for this purpose. In addition, all branches have been asked to reduce the size of their Bethel family. There will also be some reduction in the number of special pioneers.

Please be assured that these adjustments are not being made because of a lack of financial support on your part. Far from it! You have been very generous in your support of the Kingdom work. And in your letters and cards you show a high level of spirituality and great appreciation for all that Jehovah is doing on behalf of his organization.

However, it must be acknowledged that the Kingdom work is expanding at an accelerated pace and the Governing Body can only do so much with the funds at their disposal. Every family head realizes that where the household income is limited, he must carefully budget available funds so that his wife and children will have the necessities of life. At Philippians 1:10 we are told to “make sure of the more important things.” In harmony with this wise advice, the Governing Body desires to give priority to those activities that contribute the most to the spiritual welfare of God’s people and the advancement of the global preaching work.

Consider, for example, the announcement at the Annual Meeting that beginning in January our public magazines will be published bimonthly. There is no question that an abundance of spiritual food has been produced—so much, in fact, that many have found it difficult to keep up. This adjustment will not only allow available funds to be used effectively; it will help us to keep up with our spiritual provisions.

Please make all of these adjustments a matter of prayer. May Jehovah continue to bless each one of you for the love you show for his name.

    Your brothers,

Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Britain

It doesn't matter what happens because anything can be interpreted in a positive way. If Jehovah sees fit to downsize his organization then the preaching work must be complete and the end is imminent.

JW's have no trouble looking forward with glee, to the whole human race being "downsized" so I guess a layoff of a few Bethelites is easy to turn a blind eye to.

Is anyone else here having a wtf moment with these two statements???

Soooooooo, Jehovah isn't fully blessing this or what???

Doesn't make sense. It contradicts everything with what they say.

Isn't that from the same script that Sam Herd read at the 2015 'Annual Meeting?' Also, is there an available download for THAT letter (like so many other BOE letters that are out there)?

Last, it'd be nice to see a back-to-back clip of Lett's JW broadcast, from earlier this year, when he says "there is more money going out, than coming in," followed by Herd's statement to the contrary. My Youtube editing skills are lacking...as is my spare time. But, maybe someone could tackle it.

In your first post where you have typed the content you have missed out the important paragraph at the top of page 2.

It is there in your later post in the PDF on PAGE 2 which does contains the important bit about reducing the bethel families and how "heartwarming" their response has been!

This has been read out at our meeting this past week.

sir82 and Simon have called this 100% correct.

Announcements have to be made so there is a clear party line to push cynical and critical comments underground.

In the main however, no one mentally in will care. Everything is a blessing, everything is an evidence of the chariot going at warp factor 10 even if it's a direct contradiction of a previous announcement.

The good news is that when people do start asking questions, the double speak is highly visible. The audit trail of what the organisation has said in the publications has been well documented for some time (e.g. jwfacts). The move to distributing BoE letters and other internal documents electronically has opened up more about processes and procedures to scrutiny. Most recently, the visibility of the GB and their need to respond more rapidly to community chatter means that there is no longer a simple wall of silence (AKA "waiting on Jehovah") where the org felt no desire to say anything.

So, letters like this mean very little to most dubs in terms of their cognitive dissonance. To those waking up however, they are yet more pieces in the jigsaw of WTS propaganda.
