I probably shouldn't have used the phrase "grow up". That was rather rude on my part. I guess I just wish people would have patience as far as calling others trolls or saying that they are playing games. People have reasons for doing the things they do and in the manner that they do and it's not always apparant to everyone else. I'm confused by half the things people say but, I usually figure it's me. I think as ex-witnesses we maybe have trust issues. That's normal for people who are trying to overcome brainwashing I guess. I suppose all I'm asking for is patience. *shrugs*

Xena, Bradley is my friend and as such I tell him when he's being a dumbass. He likes it. I only get out my pom-poms on special occasions.

Dave, you seem to have done a lot of investigating. While it's interesting it doesn't really prove anything. Oh well, maybe I should have asked Craig to delete you last night instead of Alan. Yeah, I have a big heart but it's only because I've been smoking for too long. Hugs back atcha!

PS I happen to know that he lied about one thing and that was to protect his identity at the time and I don't blame him.

PPS Cas did you even read your damn emails? I sent you one and you obviously are ignoring what I said. Sheesh! Men!

Interesting thread, smacks of the incident that happened a couple of years ago with "dan" and his female freind lawyer who both happened to post from the same computer and put their foot in it over and over. 006 has rights to be concerned.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

    Euphemism,

The last corporation or LLC, I was involved in setting up I had it explained to me by my corporate lawyers, when setting up the corporation, my e-mail address that was attached to my domain name and trademarked was protected by both trademark and intellectual property laws. I'm not positive but I'm sure the watchtower has that name under the protection of both, as well as a copyright law. For someone to try and use it in any capacity is illegal.

If you know something different I would like to know what it is

    Cas,

Questions about inconstancies and highly improbable circumstances in your statements have been made. I don't see the word scandal in anyone's post. Scam maybe, but you can make this all go away by answering some of the questions.

You made your statements and requests on this open board, what's wrong with also answering questions about them on the board?

There is nothing that I would like more than for you to straighten this all out and ease our minds about you and your sister. I for one will happily apologize if I am proven wrong with any doubt or question I have posed to you.

    Brummi,

Thanks man, I appreciate your comment. I did fall for that one for a while and ended up looking a bit stupid, but I also stuck with it and did the research along with Alan F. to reveal it was a scam.

I haven't been as easily fooled since. I hate it when people use this board to play stupid little games. When I'm wrong I have no problem admitting it. When I'm right, someone is going to get exposed for their bullshit.

    Take care,

    Dave

seven006... using trademark law to prosecute e-mail address forging is certainly an interesting possibility! I've never heard of it happening, however. And I believe that it would only be an offense if it was done for the purposes of misrepresentation, or to defame the reputation of the trademark-holder. If it is obviously a joke, I don't believe it would be illegal. At the very most, perhaps, the victim could get an injunction, but I strongly doubt that any damages would be awarded.

In any case, I doubt that the very remote prospect of a lawsuit would discourage an anonymous prankster.

    Euphemism,

I think I have misunderstood what you were trying to say. In the context you just gave I have to agree with you. I was getting at someone being able to use the name watchtower.com in an e-mail address and setting it up to send out e-mails for any reason.

I cannot see that e-mail address being set up to send the kind of e-mail Cas mentioned in his post.

<<<Actually, faking an e-mail address is pathetically easy, and I am not aware of any law whatsoever against it, as long as the address doesn't belong to a real person and the message is not an advertisement.>>>

The watchtower name does belong to a real person. That was the point I was trying to make.

I agree, if it did happen which I have my doubts now, I agree with you and don't think the boys in Brooklyn would peruse it legally even though I still believe it to be illegal. If I recall a study of domain squatters taking (if I remember, the Nike name) and a legal precedent was set that included e-mail usage. It was several years ago and I heard about in a local advertising seminar. At that time intellectual property, as well as Internet law was just starting to be written. I haven't been involved in such matters for a few years so I won't swear to anything. But I still think my initial statement is true based on the context I was stating it. Again, if I am wrong, please let me know.

    Take care,

    Dave

Thanks so much to Simon, Craig, Six"o"niner, 7-006 and others for warning the board about this character.

Cas, why in the hell would anyone give you any info?

    Please indulge my personal observation.

When you made your maiden post I was one of those that welcomed you.

In reply you said "Thanks Dino, I always enjoy your posts." or something like that.

After your account was suspended briefly by Simon, your close association with JEMIMAH was fully exposed.

Since I had always been an outspoken critic of JEMIMAH's fishing expeditions on this board, I found it more than curious that you would say that to me.

You are slicker than snot on a broomhandle (as we say in Texas) and I fully expect you to concoct some tear-jerking red herring to cloud the issue at hand.

When there were questions about Minimus, I felt it was apparent to anyone who wanted to read his posts, who he was, where he lived, what he was about, etc. He was forthcoming about himself, within his obvious and stated limits. But more than that, he was consistent.

On a computer discussion board we can be anyone we want, so the only thing others have to go by is the words we use. Honesty shows to those who pay attention. Credibility is everything. I suppose that is why I enjoy meeting the people behind the words at various fests around the country. So far, I've yet to be disappointed. The people I've met have been who they are on the board.

Although I can understand a certain amount of irritation on caspian's part, I hope he can appreciate the necessity of establishing honesty. In this type of community it is never required to give any personal information, however it is expected that when such information is given it is done so in an honest and above board manner.

Some legitimate questions have been raised in this thread about some apparent inconsistencies. I hope legitimate answers are forthcoming, so we can put this matter to rest and move on.

    Peace to all,

    Chris

Caspian, I got your voicemail this afternoon. Because of the time differential and my work schedule, this Sunday will be the first best opportunity for me to call.

    Thanks,

    Craig
