    Somebody,
Good to hear from you! I know I should have put this in the Sex forum, but I'm glad to see you're keeping at least half an eye on the Main forum too. Minx.

    Comf,

That picture speaks a million binary words; all those naughty naughts and ones. LOL

A savage place! As holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a wailing moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething
As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing
    (Coleridge)

Next fancy dress, I'm going with wings and horns. That's for sure!

    Peaceloveharmony,

You do realise your profile picture makes you look like you enjoyed this thread more than is strictly proper.

Since demons have to come to earth to have sex, I assume that means that there is no sex in heaven.

And people still want to go there?

    Comf,

So thats where the expression "Feeling Horny" comes from.

The JW religion is simply fanaticism masquerading beneath a cloak of reasoned logic.

Philo, could you be more specific? I don't recognize the passage by Coleridge, but it looks like great reading. What is it?

    Comf,

As it happens I can do better than that; here is the whole poem. Hope you enjoy it. Do you think Coleridge would mind me infringing his copyright like this? []

    ---------------

Kubla Khan or A Vision in a Dream
Coleridge, Samuel Taylor (1772-1834) - English poet, essayist, and critic. Known as a brilliant conversationalist and the most perceptive critic of his day, Coleridge left only a small body of work to preserve his genius.

Kubla Khan or A Vision in a Dream (1797) - Kubla Khan was the founder of the Mongol dynasty in China. This unfinished poem describes Xanadu -- Kubla Khan's pleasure-dome.

    KUBLA_KHAN
    -
    -
    In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
    A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
    Through caverns measureless to man
    Down to a sunless sea.
So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round:
And here were gardens bright with sinuous rills
    Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;
And here were forests ancient as the hills,
    Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.
But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!
    -
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething,
As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing,
    A mighty fountain momently was forced;
    Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst
Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail,
Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher's flail:
And 'mid these dancing rocks at once and ever
It flung up momently the sacred river.
Five miles meandering with a mazy motion
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran,
Then reached the caverns measureless to man,
And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean:
And 'mid this tumult Kubla heard from far
    Ancestral voices prophesying war!
    -
The shadow of the dome of pleasure
    Floated midway on the waves:
Where was heard the mingled measure
From the fountain and the caves.
It was a miracle of rare device,
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice!
    A damsel with a dulcimer
In a vision once I saw:
    It was an Abyssinian maid,
And on her dulcimer she played,
    Singing of Mount Abora.
    Could I revive within me
    Her symphony and song,
To such a deep delight 't would win me
That with music loud and long,
I would build that dome in air,
That sunny dome! those caves of ice!
And all who heard should see them there,
And all should cry, Beware! Beware!
His flashing eyes, his floating hair!
Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

    THE END

Thanks, Philo. You know, after I posted my request, I got to thinking, "Was that a quote from 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner?'" At first I was sure it wasn't, but the more I thought, the more unsure I became, until I had to go read the whole poem again just to check and see! LOL Even though I only succeeded in proving myself right (it wasn't quoted from there) it was an enjoyable time spent reading good literature.

I'm familiar with the opening two lines of Xanadu:
    "In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
    A stately pleasure-dome decree"

...but wasn't familiar with the rest of it. What an epic it could have become, had he finished it!

P.S. If you folks flesh this thread on out to 20 posts, so that it gets a "page 2", I'll give you another Boris Vallejo demonic sex image for your libidinous gratification... you meditators upon evil in the dark of night. :)
