Is fighting illegal immigration tantamount to anti immigration? Also is there a big difference in being anti illegal immigration and being quiet about and doing the same thing but being outspoken?

In one case you're allowing the officers of the law to fulfill their duty. In the other, you're demonizing an entire population, portraying them as evil lawbreakers, and sometimes worse.

I'm not accusing all of you, but have noted a vocal minority that condemns illegal immigrants in terms that seem way out of proportion to their simply crossing the border illegally. You get the impression that they're all hardened criminals rather than someone hoping for a better life.

Yes, they broke the law, but that doesn't make them bad people. Denigrating a group of people is a slippery slope that makes it easier and easier to consider them less deserving of the basic human rights we all deserve.
