For the past 80 years or so calm external conditions have meant that internal factors (such as 1975, generation teaching, preaching, policies and so on) have tended to dictate the growth and decline of JWs. In the coming years external factors may not be as quiescent and may become more important in determining the growth or decline of JWs.

WTC is disentegrating before my eyes, but in slow motion like a train that derails, folding up into itself and crushing everything in its way as body parts fly through the air onto the sides of the track.
Some telltale events could signal it's trajectory into the abyss, like:
- More and more use of ChatGPT as they reduce the writing staff. Yes - I think most of their articles are strung together by AI generated content. Do a side by side comparison for yourself and I think you will see the similarities
- Reduce the hierarchy (few or no CO's, fewer elders, fewer elders wives :-)
- Allow beards on men AND women (my old JW girlfriend had a fuller beard than I could after a 2 week vacation)
- Elimination of all words that require a dictrionary to understand
- Discontinuation of all maintenance in the Kingdom Halls that cost more than $1.25 (Dollar store max price)
- Telling the truth about something - if they ever do, then the END IS HERE!
No longer requiring the reporting of time .Already done
Seriously, the recent defeats in court have shaken them up. The floodgates for massive losses are now open wide and plaintiffs are lining up to take their share, even if it's only a lazyboy chair from Mark Sanders room at Warwick. I even heard Donald Trump say that the only one getting charged more than him is WTC!!
I promise to come back and voice my astonishment if WTC makes it 5 more years without filing Chap 11.

Not much will change. The "busy work" will continue as they continue to declare that The End will come very, Very, VERY soon. There will always be a disaster, disease, insurrection, war/conflict to use to ramp up the message.
I think the CSA lawsuits will taper off, as WT really has implemented new policy to stop the abuse. NOT because of any ethical reasons, but primarily to stop the financial bleeding. WT Legal directs that law enforcement be notified (IF the State mandates such, and perhaps even if not).
I think they will concentrate very heavily on younger members to make them feel important and appreciated (especially young boys/men, less for girls/women who are clearly not as essential) to keep them from leaving.
The donation system -- the mandated per diem contribution for each publisher -- will go up, and up for the congregations, assemblies, etc. Congs that fail to maintain their required donations will be considered for dissolution (after a remodel is completed with free labor).
Conventions will be smaller to make use of Assembly Halls (already happening) so as to avoid paying rent to outside facilities. Locally, they have only one "large" Regional Convention (vs 2 or 3 in the past) and a smaller public venue, while the majority are assigned to the Assembly Hall. So that it does not just seem like the Circuit Assembly, Congs are not assigned by Circuits. Rather, 1 or 2 Congs from each circuit that uses the Assembly Hall are assigned to a convention so there is a feel that it includes a wider spectrum of delegates instead of the same old group at every Circuit Assembly. (This also allows teens to meet marriage mates from other circuits.)
Most changes will be implemented for one of two reasons: Cutting costs or increasing donations.
