And it sure was! Morty -- you could donate your hair for TWO cancer wigs!!! Your hair has a lot of body and natural wave, maybe a sophisticated ~~Bob~~ bob?

Aztec -- when she says she's a Canadian at heart, she's not kidding!!!!! She was going beer for beer with Walter there for a while, and that's saying something! At the hotel bar, she was even drinking Canadians (while graciously NOT calling me absurd for being some sort of lame deist)! PLUS she's a hockey fanatic. Maybe it will be OK to be a Wings fan in Leaf territory -- as long as you're rooting for one of the Original SIx. AND in Toronto it's okay to hate the Habs ... unlike in outnfree's living room! Only problem is, we love our Carrie and we would miss her to death!!! On second thought: You can't have her, Walter!!!!!! (Is that face scary enough for you?)

Pettygrudger -- (who is not petty at all!) Your ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved is awe-inspiring (HA! You thought that world only applied to the WT God!). Your generosity is overwhelming, your goodwill overflowing. (What do I win now that I sucked up best? ) Seriously, I could not have made it to the event without your offer of a place to crash, and I appreciate that. I, too, appreciated the insights we finally got to voice when we got to that quiet place back at the hotel. I am still mulling things over...

But Rhonda and shera -- I am NOT a camper! I don't think Maine and/or Nova Scotia is in the cards for me, unless I can drive to the campground from the local 3-star bed and breakfast. I've never been "out East" and I have been wanting to see Maine ever since I helped plan an itinerary for a *rich* family during my travel agent days. Name the location and dates and I'll try to find myself accomodations... Of course, I could just be like Azzy and stay up all night, eliminating the need to crawl into a bedroll on the hard ground after polluting the lake with my soap and shampoo, and, er, wiping my butt with some poison ivy!!! (or maybe reverse the order on those last two...)

And then there's my Lena, the absolutely BEST chaperone a married woman could ask for! (Didya hear that TIm??????) Not to mention, beautiful, talented (esp. at euchre), polite, accommodating, possessing good genes , and, once again, conquering the hearts of all apostates of all persuasions lucky enough to meet her! Safe4kids is gonna be really, really mad when she finds out I took Lena to TO, after not bringing her to joy and steve's! (She was a marvelous fill in for Jann at the last minute, okay?! <still ducking and going incognito just to be "safe"! >

Yes, yes! A merry time was had by all! Thanks again to our warm, generous host, iiz2cool. In fact, it's impossible to thank Walter enough! (But if you're inclined to try, might I suggest a gift of ? -- Beans knows!)

And to all the Toronto apostates -- YOUR TURN to come to Michigan now... It's only 4 hours away and there's lots of reasonably priced hotels right near the Silverdome. We'll just make sure not to plan the 'fest for the second weekend of June, okay?

Actually, if we seriously plan something, Ann Arbor might make a nicer setting. Victoria Day weekend?

Slower than Methusalah's pension plan, my still has film in it from the mini Detroit fest (Labour Day weekend 03').

I think I have a few more shots, so I have to think of things to photograph.

So, the Detroit thread, will eventually be resurrected, and more pics for the Torontofest thread (this one).

MY TURN!!!!!!!

I just got home a short time ago. Glad to see my pics (though not very clear) were able to make in online. It was so amazing to meet all of you! I feel like I need to apoligize to you all. The time went by so quick and I never had a chance to sit and talk with you all. It was really overwhelming. Sloan who came all the way from florida............well.............unbelieveable. Then to top it off, I was late getting everywhere thanks morton who was having some gas problems!!!!!!! Hey don't forget to post your question on gas to the board. See we left the restaruant at 10 or so but had to stop at the hotel because morton needed to put on her expandable track pants (too much chinese food), and then it was a stop at the drug store for ear plugs ............gas X..............nytol.............all the staples for sharing rooms with other women!!!!!! Very funny! So we made it to rays at 11:30 and almost missed my friends. Sorry frank T and John and Diana. But we had to look after some gas problems.

Walter......what a man , as you have heard many times today. You are wonderful and kind and hospitable. Iam sorry i showed up so late at your house, and I missed saying bye to outnfree. Bye OUTNFREE! So nicee to meet you and your daughter. You were leaving just as I was coming in. Did you see me waving?

Thanks to all that showed my brother a good time (loosened him up with a little pot I hear) Can't believe no one told me! I would have been standing in the rain too!

Neverthere! Wonderful to see you again and meet your new husband. Much better choice than your first!(my uncle) Sorry we did not have a chance to come by. I would have loved to see the boys. Peter and I were so late in getting done the show, we almost missed morton and the crew before they left for home. I will call you next time I come in town. Iam there often. Send a pic.

Victoria Day weekend?

It's a great weekend for an event! But I'd probably wither and die if I had to wait THAT long to see my Michigan buds again! I'll make sure to get down there for a visit sooner than that!
