Walter *staggering to work while making plans for the next party*
That just warms the cockles of my heart! Walter worked his butt off (but will you be able to tell which one is his?) and he's willing to do it AGAIN!!!!!! Let me tell you, Valis, the Overbeership is in good hands in Ontario with iiz2drunk. ;) Especially since Beans had to be good... Unfortunately, we let Jehovah down, because we drank and drank, but we didn't fall down and puke . (Must be because we're apostates, right?)
Well, dayum! Too many people, too little time.
First off to the possible surprise guests (you know who you are): and mostly, . Missed yas! So close and yet so far...
Hehe, lessee....
morton68 was nothing like I'd imagined her to be! I expected a quiet, sorta whiney type, and instead got an extroverted, easygoing, strong woman! (even if she is a bit of a gas bag! LOL) She has a hunk of a hubby and gorgeous boys, too! It was a great pleasure to see the pure joy she and Vicki radiated at finally being reunited after all those years. And they had a mini-reunion with other childhood friends throughout the weekend, too.
Thank god for the British! (You should pardon the expression! ) Nothing like a tall, lanky Englishman to put a lush straight! ExpatBrit once again graced me with his presence and impeccable good sense, making sure I saved myself from complete and utter debauchery--at least too soon in the day! Where were you at midnight, eh? (And Rhonda, honey? that's spelled "eh?" not "aye?". "Aye" is Scottish for "yes"--I learned that from LittleToe who will be wondering how the hell his name got into the Toronto 'fest thread--LOL)
Expat, sorry you had to eat lunch alone. We figured since Walter had airport duties the least we could do was to eat with the man before deserting him for our hotel in the big city! Trust me, drinking with us was preferable to eating lunch with him. (Sorry, Walter! ) Had I realized you two had not yet met, however, (which only dawned on me this morning) I probably would've done things differently.
needs_lots has a lot goin' for her! She was so happy to see Morty! And I have a feeling this weekend was a much needed release from all the stress and worries of her battle with the injustices of Watchtower control. It was an honor to finally meet our heroine.
Her husband, Scott, was an excellent dinner partner, chauffeur, and bar companion. He's very likeable, intelligent, compassionate and has taken the time to understand how the Borg works. Not every never-a-JW husband takes the time. Hats off to Scott!
shera brought her sister-in-law along to keep her company, which may have worked a tad TOO well. SIL was outgoing and dear Shera is rather shy. So SIL smoothed the way in some respects, but also permitted Shera to stay quietly in the background for quite a while. I don't think anyone but the crew at Walter's post-Cameron House got to know shera too well. I got accustomed to her face, tho, at dinner. My regards to "Red", shera!
James Dean put in an appearance, which was shocking to some! Me, I firmly believe in an afterlife, so it wasn't a total surprise. However, I had never realized what a split personality that attractive young actor had! Live and learn!
I got to spend a few minutes with Wolfie , and wish him the fortitude to deal with his sad circumstances. Hope to see you again sometime. Your buddy, too!
Neverthere and hubby? I almost feel like you never were! At least in my recounting of the weekend, there were far two few minutes of interaction between us. If I had understood that "the sex show" was not a nightclub comedy act (a la The Vagina Monologues) but a supplier exhibition, I would have gotten all the salient details and probably driven you there myself! LOL I have spent time with fjtoth before, however, so am glad that you got to know him and Uzzah. Frank's a great guy, isn't he?
I'm not sure about Uzzah who must have had a wonderful time after he left us on Saturday PM, because I never got to see him before I had to head home on Sunday. My daughter-the-card-shark had to be home in time to prepare a physics lab report with a classmate, so 4 PM was my departure deadline. Maybe we can get to chat in another two years, eh, you namesake-of-an-ark-touching-pariah you??!!??
SLOAN keeps following me!!!! I think this is the fourth time we've been at an ex-JW event together! It was good to have some Southern suga' grace the Great White North!
Quotes has some FINE bone structure! Which Aztec noticed and I think SLOAN remarked upon, but I never did hear which famous person she thought he resembles. I, of course, liked him for his mind! ;) and his website... At least, I think it's his website... Rhonda thought that because BEANS is always advertising the site, that it was Beans' creation. I thought it was your creation, Quotes. I'd like to entice you to settle this argument by saying that there are big bucks riding on it and if you side with me there's good money in it for you, but I cannot. (Rhonda is notoriously tight-fisted... )
Beans and his Beaniebabies! Omigod! There was more cute on that one couch at Walter's mom's than a body should have to stand!!!! And now he's sent me a PM that intrigues me, so I will have to make sure to get back to Toronto on a non-custodial weekend, ply him and Quotes with beer and get them to take me to Uzzah's so we can all have a nice long trip down memory lane! Too short, but definitely sweet, kiddo!
68storm was a sight for sore eyes! He's just the greatest guy and he hangs out with good people, too. I was sorry to learn the continuation of your saga, but you actually looked more relaxed and in better shape than you had two years ago. I'm sorry I missed meeting your son. If he's half as nice as his dad, I'm more than sorry! Keep well.
Gotta go now.... I'll lampoon the rest of yas later!
