Just so the record is straight, and Tim (Rhonda's hubby) doesn't get freaked out, the ear plugs were not FOR Scott, they were for my daughter (who knows her mom! ). Scott was just my "wheel man" (and also sympathetic to my not wanting to deal with the possible after-effects of Morty's bloating -- she, too, was a roomie, along with petty).

Was just trying to go over the other threads and you are right about the red heads name in the pic with Vicki and I.(.Johnathon)
Realatiy has hit today, and I miss eveyone all ready...The pics are all great, but I think my hair takes over everything...( one reason why it is getting cut.)
We need so bad to have another weekend like this......who is having the usa fest? glad to you eveyone made it home safely.( obwan, our worry-wart of the bunch....always making sure we are all ok...thanks -hon...hubbie says thanks for looking after us..)
I am in for something before our camping trip.....going to bring the other half of the mortys though...And you think I am wild....wait till you meet the original.....lol.....
Cant say enough, how much fun I had.........So many memories.....would not trade them for a million dollars!!!

I have to say it was alot of fun meeting everyone. I met some very kind and supportive people this weekend.
Scott and Vicki--You both have been through so much. You are both amazing people and it was a pleasure meeting you both. Thank you for your kind words and advice Scott.

One thing I want to mention. When I was an active JW(yup..I'm a fader) whenever the talk of apostates came up they were pictured as frothing at the mouth lunatics with nothing but hatred in their hearts. This is so far from the truth. I met warm and caring people that like me were hurt by the Org.

Hi Torontofesters!!! WOW, it was soo great to spend time w/ you all. What a bunch of wonderful people!!!
I had so much fun. I had a couple of REALLY tough 2 weeks and was ready to have a great time and I will have to say that I wasn't disappointed in the least!!
For all of you who knew about my troubles getting into and out of Canada. I have to tell you what transpired. Coming IN to Toronto as you know; I didn't have a birth certificate or a passport because when acquiring the airfare I was assured that I didn't need it. Well after a few minutes of speaking to management they let me go ahead and fly to Canada. When I got there the man at the customs counter said that I may get sent back home because I didn't have proper ID. He sent me to Immigration where I smoozed my way into Canada. They told me it wouldn't be so easy getting back home to the States. I was determined to have a great time over the weekend and decided to adopt Scarlett O'hara's attitude and chose not to "think about it till tomorrow". lol Well upon trying to leave Canada, I had to speak w/ a customs agent to try to get home. He asked me a lot of questions and wasn't the least bit friendly. He said that I could NOT enter the United States w/out either a passport or my birth certificate. I thought I may have to live w/ Rhea for a bit until someone could fax me a copy of my BC or something. I pleaded my case and he started asking me even more questions. Why are you HERE in Canada? visiting friends How did you MEET these friends? at this point i was upset and knew I had to do something very clever, cuz he wasn't budging!! So, my response was......... "we all used to be in a CULT together". He stopped and looked up and said, "oh yeah"? What kind of cult? to which I responded; "a religious one. We used to be Jehovah's Witnesses but we have all left, have met one another from a forum on the internet and get together to support one another. It creates a very unique bond" He pushed all of my papers across the counter toward me along with my ID and said, "Well Ms. Griffin because you are NO LONGER one of Jehovah's Witnesses and you got OUT, you're going home today! In the future; I assure you that you will not be allowed into the States unless you have one of the two forms of identity REQUIRED!! Stay away from them JW's and don't go back!! Have a great flight home." OMG; I couldn't believe it. What a relief!! YAY!! hehe Should have played the lotto Monday too. ha After sleeping for many hours I came to this thread to talk to you peeps about the fest.

For letting me sleep on your couch and for letting me use all of your towels!!haha I enjoyed spending all that time w/ you on Saturday before the dinner. You are a wonderful man and I know that we will be friends for years to come!! You did such a great job of putting this whole thing together. I thought it went so smoothly and it turned out so nice. I love how personable and down to earth you are. That was very clever to say what you did, and honestly, I'm sure the customs/immigration official at Pearson International Airport, was relieved you were no longer a Jehovah's Witness.
Cool! Still, that's pretty stressful.
Next time, for sure, take as much I.D. that you possibly can.
I always have a passport, even for going into the USA, because it's the best (Federal document) and I have my birth certificate, and other I.D.
So nice to hang out with you Michelle on Sunday night into Monday morning. That was a hoot!
I hope we get to do it again, real soon.
