As far as cops go the type of personality that gravitates to that job are usually control freaks with massive egos who love doughnuts. Well the Dog nut part is arguable. Anyone who thinks a cop is your friend is a fool.

This statement by you seems to include all people in law enforcement (including me as I was in law enforcement) cannot think that some of them were my friends without being a fool, that all of them did not fit your description, including me. That seems to be addressed to me..

Whoever you believe, whatever you think. . . It was some pretty damn interesting television!

I don't think he's as slick a liar as others who are far more polished at it but it's kind of funny to see people want to both declare him a lying sleazebag and also an honest exposer of things.

    Which is it?

If he's telling the truth about Trump, then does that truth also include the lack of collusion with Russia? i.e. the thing that was actually supposed to be a crime? Or do people think they should be able to pick and chose what things are true and which are lies? Let me guess ... if Trump bad then true and if Trump not bad then not true? It's that simple?

It's all pantomime at this point. The 2020 election will happen before they get to any impeachment effort even if they ever summon up the will to do so. Which is the real point of all this - not to actually impeach, just make a lot of noise and claim there's a lot of smoke. All the benefits of impeachment without any of the calories ...

Cohen and Manafort being crooked doesn't make Trump guilty of collusion with Russia or that interference in the election happened. I know some can't make that mental separation, but it's the same as claiming that because you were caught speeding you must also be guilty of murder.

He's "cooperating" to get himself the best deal he can because he's a sleazebag. Does that make his testimony truthful? I think it says more about the people making the deals and wanting to believe it.

Collusion maybe maybe not. It's the southern New York district office that Trump has to watch out for not what Cohen had to say. Still Totally ADD

Seems to be quite a stretch from "This one individual didn't see evidence of collusion" to "collusion did not occur".

Or do people think they should be able to pick and chose what things are true and which are lies?

He may have said some true things and some false things. That's why there is an "investigation" - to see what corroborating evidence there is, to determine the true from the false.

it's the same as claiming that because you were caught speeding you must also be guilty of murder.

Don't quite follow this - Cohen is alleging a ton of illegal activity besides the Russia / election issue. If you are arrested for bank robbery, and the police find you have a kilo of cocaine in your pocket, they can't charge you with drug possession also?

He's "cooperating" to get himself the best deal he can because he's a sleazebag.

He cooperated in the past, and got a reduced sentence as a result. That part is closed, over and done with. This is a different hearing. He has struck his deal, he got his reduced sentence. Nothing he says here reduces his time any further. On the other hand, if he is caught perjuring anew, he will certainly get more time. Seems he has little incentive to lie.

Agree with you on the "sleaze" part though. Ten years of association with Trump will do that to a person.

Blondie any attorney will tell you when a cop asks you questions you STFU and second STFU. They are not your friend. that is a fact. You can say something in distress that does not sound right or to them is off and put your self in a world of hurt. They are NOT YOUR FRIEND. They are not just trying to help you out. Even in a traffic accident STFU and don't say much. Don't say I am sorry its my fault or anything. The less said the better. If you were still in LE and pulled me over or was investigating something and were questioning me you are not my friend. That is a fact.

    Simon, Blondie ...

At least here in the US, there are severe laws about "guilt by association" or "being an accessory to a crime." You don't have to even do it but instigating it or perpetuating it can be a crime in and of itself, whether or not you are personally there at the scene or not.

Drive a car with several guys who then commit a crime. Get caught and tell the police that you were not involved ... ha ha ... good luck .... you'll need a really good lawyer.

YESS!!! As Sunny Hostin pointed out today on The View, she is a former prosecutor in the state of NY, and she says the same exact thing. So I'm just thinking how Drumpf and his henchmen are following the playbook of Watergate, if so, bye bye Drumpf !

Did it seem to anyone that the Republicans were acting a lot like WT elders in some judicial committee hearings that I’ve heard about? No attempts (that I know of so I may be incorrect) to refute or examine the evidence on its own merits. Just a lot of loud character assassination and righteous indignation. That was the best they could do?

I honestly don't see what your objection is. Just because it may take a while to impeach Trump doesn't mean it's not worth doing. If Trump cheated to get into office - if he broke campaign finance laws paying off porn stars and/or if he conspired with the Russians to influence the elections - than he should be kicked out of office regardless if it's his first term or his second term.

Just because it may take some time to right a wrong doesn't mean it's not worth making the effort to do so. Congress has a responsibility to provide checks and balances on the Executive Branch. And I think we're all better off if we can get to the bottom of this. If Trump is innocent, than his name can be cleared and we can move on. If he broke the law, than he should be removed from office.
