Don’t be scared. You’re in good hands with Zalkin. You’ll be surprised at how well versed he is in all things JW. It’s unnerving at first but comforting as you progress because very little explaining if any will need to be done by you. One of the first things he will likely advise you on is taking care what and how you share on social media and in public arenas like this. He will also be blatantly clear about what to expect moving forward. You are on the right track. My best wishes for you.

You picked the correct Zalkin Law Firm, Liz - the one on the east coast is not in any way connected to Irwin Zalkin's field of expertise. The east coast guy is a specialist in criminal defense - maybe the Watchtower can hire him and have a "Zalkin v Zalkin legal death match"!

You have already proven your courage by taking that first big step. I hope you get the justice you deserve and that all the guilty parties get the punishment they deserve.

he can ask all he wants. Doesn't mean that a ADA would accept the offer.

I keep thinking that i have reached the end of the crap bucket. i keep thinking that yes he will finally go to court and he will be held accountable for at least one of the 4 victims.

    Most recent shit

    1. the victim that the time has not expired on her mother is a child protective service case worker. she has been since the assaults happened. victim stated her mom and dad always strongly suspected that I was abused but NEVER flippin reported....even though it was her damn fuckin job to make sure that kids were safe. I was 16 at the time that could have save me from 9 years of abuse. They made a "deal" with the family and the elders that my brother would pay for counseling and a years worth of co-pays. (Why does it feel like they were "selling" their daughter?)

    2. on the Judicial committee sat an elder. The elder was an eye doctor and a mandatory reporter for the state of Oregon. And tah-dah didn't report either.

what I have learned though is that my brother is willing to throw everyone under the bus to get off on the chargers even if it means throwing his fellow believer under the bus and her facing jail time (or more) for it. Jehovah's Witnesses are not kind. Jehovah's Witnesses are not loving. They are so incredibly self righteous, and self serving I want to punch them all. I am sad because I know that there are some truly misguided people in the organization but when does sympathy for the people trapped become outrage because they are not thinking and/or lazy?

Thank you for keeping us updated LizD. Keep strong. We're all with you.

You are so correct about the nasty nature of JW's. I've experienced so many unloving, self righteous people in this religion. They protect the organization's image at all costs. One might say it's idol worship. It probably is.
