Pretty much all Christian religions have to deal with the fact that Paul is contradictory on the subject

Were women to keep silent; were they to wear head coverings while praying, prophesying, etc., or could they actually be Deacons like Phoebe? Paul is all over the place.

The JW's (I believe) claim that 1 Cor 14:34 was a reference to public assemblies only

Paul is contradictory on the subject

Part of that might be because not all the letters ascribed to Paul were written by him.

As the early Christ cults battled for market domination, one of the leading movements was that of the Gnostics. These were not literalists and like other contemporary Christ followers were not patriarchal but allowed women as leaders within the group.

It's worth remembering that the Bible or rather a Bible with an orthodox canon did not exist until the first quarter of the fourth century.

It was the right wing literalist interpreters of christian writings who eventually won out when the Roman powers forced a fusion of beliefs creating the Catholic Church and gave its assent to the Pauline texts (whoever wrote them) with its support of male authority reflecting the military ethos of the empire.

Show me a patriarchy where there is no misogyny and I will marvel at how on earth that’s been accomplished. Wherever patriarchy sets down roots, misogyny follows. There is no exception

Why would any self-respecting woman want to be a part of a belief system that takes as its starting point women’s full submission to men?

Because bible and jehovah and paradise and all of that...perfection is coming. Soon.

Most of them don't know that they have any other option. They don't realize that women have the right to vote and the right to say no.

JW's are all about loopholes like the two women facing each other or being interviewed by a man and not directly addressing the congregation.

Loopholes like blood fractions and a host of other things, the FDS being spirit-directed instead of inspired, not being wrong in the past but rather the light got brighter, YADDA YADDA YADDA!
