From the FAQ as captured on the website with this question (How many Jehovah's Witnesses are there worldwide?) led to this question of MINE who do the ORGANIZATION sees as a Jehovah's witness? The ORGANIZATION answers:

    1. We count as Jehovah’s Witnesses only those who are actively preaching the good news of God’s Kingdom each month(baptized publisher or unbaptized publisher)

    2. Do you count THOSE ASSOCIATED with your ORGANIZATION who do not preach?

Although we do not include such ones in the number of Witnesses, we welcome them in our congregations.

    3. By contrast, we count as Jehovah’s Witnesses only those who preach to others and who report that activity, not those who merely identify themselves as Witnesses.

What EMERGES from the three points above?

Someone that is not reporting but a baptized member and not dead. Is that person a Jehovah's witness or NOT?

Since the ORGANIZATION say they count only does actively preaching as Jehovah's WITNESSES, then someone that fades away is not a Jehovah's Witness despite being a BAPTIZED PUBLISHER and his baptism identify him as ONE.

This lead into the second baptismal question

    Second baptismal question.

Do you understand that your BAPTISM identifies you as one of JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES in ASSOCIATION WITH Jehovah’s organization?

Look at the second question in that FAQ article again below....

Do you COUNT those ASSOCIATED with your organization who do not preach?

The answer according to the organization is......Although We DO NOT INCLUDE SUCH ONES in the NUMBER of WITNESSES,

Do you see the usage of the word ASSOCIATED? An invitee who attends the MEMORIAL GATHERING is not a Jehovah's Witness same as a baptized publisher who do not report his activity too is not a Jehovah's Witness

but from the second baptismal question, the following can be said....

as a result of baptism many come into ASSOCIATION with the ORGANIZATION and are SEEN as now as a JEHOVAH'S WITNESS by all.

So, what is this all about?

    1. It means despite baptism and recognizing your baptism IDENTIFIES you as a JW. You will not be counted as a JW when you fail to report and should you do so consistently the status remains the same.

    2. From the first point on that FAQ aricle, they count unbaptized publishers who actively preach as JEHOVAH'S WITNESS without baptism. In essence the second baptismal question and baptism does not count or made less important in such case.

Who then really is a Jehovah's witness looking at the way they play with words relating to...... Who they see and count as Jehovah's witness and who they don't see and count as Jehovah's WITNESSES

So when RETURNING to JEHOVAH as this week watchtower study article is based. Those willing to do so should be ready to RESUME their WORK as SALES MARKETER. It seems that's the ONLY BASIS for RETURNING since an unbaptized publisher is equally a Jehovah's Witness like you without baptism doing well in the SALES MARKETING business.

And once the newness of being newly baptized and the serious questions come up that no one wants to answer except the line to wait on Jeehober then you wake up and see how you are used and what a bunch of bullshit the whole thing is. No matter what they say, there is no returning to this crap.

You make a very valid point! And again the borg has really painted themselves into a corner. The #2 baptism question is sort of a mute point!

    just saying!

To be properly counted, you would need to be a publisher. This means either being regular for the past 6 months, or being a new publisher (and yes, they count unbaptized publishers as publishers) and having time every month since becoming approved or the past 6 months, whichever comes first. And lying about your time is not acceptable, nor is having someone else filling a fake time slip in your behalf good enough.

I would also add that people, to count, must have a genuine belief in the arrangement and be in line, according to their own theology, for salvation. This means that anyone that turns in time but would be destroyed, under their own theology, would not count. It also means those just doing the time would not count. Nor would they count if they are in it simply because it is a free pass to be a tyrant. Under their own theology, such are not to be counted because they would not survive Armageddon.

Using these additional guidelines, you would have well under a million. Most of them are either in it so they can be tyrants (and abusing children is a form of tyranny, especially doctrinal abuse), to look good (and many of those putting in 80 or 90 monthly hours are doing it for self righteous reasons), or because they are under pressure. Taking these out of the picture, you are not going to have anywhere near 8 million.

Isn't it obvious for any setting? If you want to be a writer, you need to write. If you want to be a salesman, you need to sell. If you want to be a Jehovah's Witness, you need to witness, or preach.

Regarding baptism, it is an initiation ceremony to get you inside the club. Once inside, you need to follow a host of rules to maintain your membership. The two baptismal questions just get you in, and nothing else.

" Once inside, you need to follow a host of rules to maintain your membership." True, and as pointed out above, one important Rule to follow is to preach, every month and to report that time.

If you do not, they do not "count" you as a J.W., but if you break almost any other one of their myriad Rules, all of a sudden, you are a J.W., even though not being counted as one, so that they can Disfellowship you.

Again, the Org wants it both ways, you are not a JW when they say so, and yet you are a few minutes later if they say so !

Who then really is a Jehovah's witness looking at the way they play with words relating to...... Who they see and count as Jehovah's witness and who they don't see and count as Jehovah's WITNESSES

Ezekiel, Jeremiah and Daniel expressed apostate-to-the-Governing-Body-arithmetic in the Scriptures and therefore would not be involved in Watchtower work if alive today, Jehovah's Witnesses as identified by the prophet Isaiah would have no part with the JW Governing Body of today.

Given Jehovah inspired Ezekiel, Jeremiah and Daniel, He definately wouldn't have anything to do with the Watchtower.

So who are the Watchtower? And who are their Governig Body? What are they governing?

Once identified, then you count how many there are who subject themselves to their authority. Using Watchtower's definition of a JW will never allow you to properly identify group membership because Watchtower writers use spin. Perhaps just call them 'Group A.'. And how's that for a title of a future Watchtower article? Return to Group A.

(Matthew 7:16) . . .By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they?

As with anything JW related, you cant look deep into the subject. Their whole religion collapses once you do that. The org teach that Gods name is Jehovah. However once you look further into the subject, you find that its not. They teach that they have preached to the whole world, whereas in reality, at least a third of the world have never even heard of Jehovahs witnesses, And so it goes on.

If you do not, they do not "count" you as a J.W.,

and that's actually a blessing as most people choose this way to fade away from the organization.

@ Phizzy....Again, the Org wants it both ways, you are not a JW when they say so, and yet you are a few minutes later if they say so !

    That's exactly how it is
