The Christians I know believe in the trinity, that Jesus is God.

The JW's do not believe that.

So that is probably why so many people say that JW's are not Christians.

Jesus is the beginning and the end. So he must be God.

Jehovahs witnesses either do not believe that or they can't comprehend it.

They know the bible says that but it doesn't sink in.

Yes, they are christians, but they are JEHOVAHERS in a much bigger way. Most other forms of Christianity are big on Jesus and the Gospels, but care almost nothing about the childless God of the Old Testament, except when there's a prophecy about his future son. Most other Christians care about the God of the New Testament because he is the father of the big hero of Christianity, JESUS CHRIST. It's all in the name CHRISTIANITY.

They have given no sign that they are Christian. Governing Bodyites is closer to what they have become.

It's all about branding. Whoever is perceived as owning the brand gets to socially trade on preferential terms. Just as no-one likes to allow others to brand them (when negative) they want to brand themselves. Whoever gets to claim to be the true 'christian' gets to exert authority. To this end all sects of Christianity attempt to downplay all other sects and claim the trademark.

Since the value of that particular label is currently low and diminishing and anyone who could have authentically claimed it got curb stomped by Rome 2 millennia ago I'm more than happy to allow them to claim a stake in it.

Jehovah's Witnesses accept Jesus as Christ, the Son of God.

They do not accept the doctrine of the ransom as applying to the majority of them (99.9%). It only applies to the anointed.
They do not believe that it is in Jesus' name that they must be saved.

According to the dusty scrolls decided upon as valid by humans, anyone can claim to be Xian, but that does not mean they are.

One could argue that the failure of 99.9% of JWs failing to be called by "God" to examine the man-made, false doctrines of the WTBTS Inc. could exclude them from Xianity.

According to Jesus, followers of false teachers are twice as deserving of Gehenna. So, does Jesus view Dubs, who follow men instead of the Holy Spirit, as "Christians?"
