"You're going to die in Armageddon"

Tell your JW family that you find the concept of dying at Armageddon to be rather weird.

Non-JWs who are alive when Armageddon strikes will be destroyed. However by dying BEFORE Armageddon a non-JW will be resurrected. So it's best to die BEFORE Armageddon and not at Armageddon since those who die before will be resurrected.

Non-JWs should just get a head start by taking their own lives........not to mention JWs who are guilty of disfellowshipping offences who are alive when Armageddon strikes versus those disfellowshipped JWs who die before Armageddon.

If you are able to get a copy of the publication: Your Will Be Done On Earth, 1958 you can show your JW family from this publication that one of the WT's famous teachings about the Armageddon was that the USSR would be in existence when Armageddon strikes........where is the USSR today?.......you can't take the WT's claim about Armageddon seriously.

JW: "We'll you're going to die at Armageddon."

Me: "Yep...Little old ladies, babies and me will receive the same punishment as violent rapists, mass murders, arsonists, bank robbers and child molesters. Adolph Hitler and Ted Bundy might be resurrected but not me....I'll be tossed into the lake of fire because after 40 years of service, I stopped selling Watchtowers.

But Just suppose there is such a thing as "the new system" and you do see me walking down the street one fine day. Are you going to be pissed off that a heathen like me made it or will you be happy to see me, and humbly welcome me with open arms and apologize for having condemned me to death?

    Hello Jules,

I can relate, my Mother told me the same words, almost word for word as your post and we haven't talked in a few years as a result. How I personally was able to get past it was just recognizing it for what it is - MANIPULATION. The number one way to control someone is through fear and the organization has mastered this concept. It is hurtful to hear those words, however, once you realize it is a scare and control tactic it will be easier to deal with in my opinion. Just pray for those family members that have told you that and realize that is them that are living a life full of fear, while you have moved on and living life without fear. It wont take away the hurt, but it will be easier to cope. Hope this helps.

    Two thoughts come to mind.

    1) They are using the fear of being killed at the big A just as Christendom does with the Hellfire doctrine

    2) Just politely remind them that the one thing EVERY HUMAN who has ever lived has in common is: They all die. Why would the present JWs be any different?

They're frightened Jules. Remember that and it will help take the sting out of it.

They're frightened you'll die at Armageddon. They're frightened they will die and they're probably frightened your Granddad is right all along. They may be frightened about loss of status in their social group - which status is based on peddling Watchtowers and directing people to JWBorg and sitting through drivel at meetings.

All because they are deluded sailors working on a ship of fools.

Well, my brother and sister are actually looking forward to me dying at Armageddon!

My 'elder' brother - who has caused me so much pain and won't own up to it - tells everyone I'm a crazy, liar.

My sister - who truly thinks there's : God, Jesus and her and her husband - she wouldn't believe me when I told her my brother sexually assaulted me and says 'you are not good enough to be a witness'

Both of them are looking forward to my demise! Go figure...

Jules, you can thank such ones for saving Christ the hassle of judging people. :)
Nine Scriptures reveal that the living & the dead will be judged by Christ Jesus - not by the WTBTS: John 5:28,29, Acts 10:42, Acts 17:31, Romans 14:9, 2 Cor. 5:10, 2 Tim. 4:1, 1 Pet. 4:5, Rev. 11:18 & 20:12.
Revelation 11:18 reveals when his judging would begin, "But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”

As far as I'm aware, that scenario hasn't occurred yet, so the org's dogma that all of their deceased "anointed" ones are up in heaven right now now, is another fairy story concocted by the WTBTS.
They are literally dying for the org's version of the great tribulation. :(

I'm sure I am not the only one to have heard this come out of the mouths of my loved ones. It's a very painful thing to hear, especially when it comes from the people like your own parents/family. Even after I've been told that, they would say "We'll just continue life without you." "It's okay, we won't even feel your loss because in Paradise, we won't feel pain". After having been told that, later they apologize but still, it's almost as if the apology doesn't matter if weeks later the same things are said again. How does a person respond to this? How have you responded? It can be very disturbing and distressing on an emotional and mental level.

Like a sociopath, I coldly looked at them, emotionless, right to their eyes and said: "There's no Jehovah, no Armageddon, no paradise. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your saliva".

They get completely disarmed when you show that what they say have no effect on you because it's all crap. Loving your family deeply doesn't mean enabling WT nonsense. It is nonsense. They are wrong in their assertions and actions, and they are the ones who should be ashamed for their actions based on nonsense.

Of course, I only act like a sociopath when it comes to the WT crap. For the rest I act normal (or so I think).

My response is - I'm sorry you feel that way. Let's make the most of our present time together and enjoy our time together or I will have to remove myself from this negative talk. Sometimes I stay, sometimes I go, depends on who it is and how they respond.
