    Thanks, Sylvia!

I was away from home but saw your posts on a view-only screen where I was staying. Couldn't wait to get home and tell you that a waitress and I were talking hot sauces. I learned "wasabi."

"Noisome" is a disagreeable word I learned in an SF short story. No relation to matters auditory.

"Reet": You find such excellent words!

That's right - imagine my chagrin to learn that noisome and noisy are in no wise connected. Well, some do find noise disagreeable.

I thought of wasabi because I was eating a spicy concoction that had my eyes watering.

    Wasabi..

One of the 1st flavours we were supposed to taste in culinary arts school..

Put a dab in a teaspoon, no one was to taste until the Chef said "taste"..

    "TASTE!"

You never saw so many Future Chefs running to sinks, door or windows to spit..

    ........

Ya Thats Real Funny.... Thanks Chef!.

Yes, Syl, but overweening is an adjective. Sorry if I'm being not underbearing (litotes).

dilettante: having an interest in something but w/o real knowledge or commitment; an amateur.

Would overweening hubris cancel itself out?

Going to work and will have to wait to read your response.

    Blessings and peace, Dear.

    Okay, okay.

    I see what you mean.

Hubristic and overweening could be synonymous, but not hubris.

    Rueful
