I didn't attend last year's convention. Read the outlines published on this website and realised I just couldn't bear it. I do hope some kind soul releases the 2017 outlines too.

It's similar with the CLAM - the videos are doleful. I can only tolerate one such attendance per month.

As for the WT studies, the 8th and 15th of January 2017 study content means I just cannot attend. Can't bear hearing the GB/FDS/ORGANISATION engaging in self praise.

In my congregation, attendance is troughing by about 25% but there are no local needs items addressing the issue like there would have been not all that long ago. I really hope more stay away from the conventions next year.

That some have given up would be shown by empty seats at meetings, conventions. To avoid that picture in this neck of the woods, wt is ready to disrupt the summer pattern of the locals jws, that would have dispersed like salmon to their summer retreats by that late convention date, and also force them into the most expensive, congested touristy area round.

Many jws joined the organisation, because they were promised it would be sprint, It is very painful for a sprinter to run a good marathon, Now wt here is asking the marathon runners to sprint again, but in a hurdles race for oldtimers.

wt promised to confront jws with decisions that defy common and practical sense, and here, that time has arrived, At least 1k $ will be added to the cost for a small family, ( > 30 000 $ per congregation) And many seniors , toddlers will be in danger of getting stressed in the inner city traditional jw rush for best seats, parking, a berth.

All this churning to watch the wt big screen stars, that could be set up, be watched anywhere, in the familiar settings, at a sensible time, - and will be by many, later, at home.

    Waton,

    Welcome.

JW's actually spend lots of money belonging to the cult, even before any donations. My family (3, I'm out o the deal) has to travel about 440 miles a year for conventions (2x 140 + 3x60). That's almost $300.00 of vehicle expenses according to IRS estimates. Then the additional expense for eating out. Another $300.00. That's $600.00 without lodging, which can add a substantial amount to the total. Lucky for me, they don't do that. Then 104 times a year they go to the kingdom hall. Even though the hall is nearby that's still about 1,000 miles/year or about another $600.00. The cost for an average family can easily climb to, and exceed $2,000/year once you consider the extra suits for men and dresses for women.

    Governing body:

Please bring the cult to my living room. I can save those 2,000 dollar and use them for better things.

    Enduring Despite... Advancing age?

Wtf?? Again, another (overlapping) generation will come and go without seeing the big A. Maybe time for the GB to book a vacation to the moon, that's the closest they will get to jah!
