There will be a sliver lining to the virus

The silver lining. Where do I start.

We do need borders, but deporting people who have been here for 20 years is a waste of resources that breaks up families and upsets struggling farms and businesses. It has a net effect of shrinking the economy, wasting tax dollars. And doing it now will only further spread disease internationally. Whoever is here should stay, build an electronic wall rather a physical one. Too many planes have been screwing up the ozone layer flying, transporting entitled, degenerate tourists who get drunk and puke everywhere.

No preacher wants to preach that the coronavirus is God's judgment on man for overconsumption and individual overambition with no regard for the planet. It doesn't inspire people to follow or donate, because it makes them sound as annoying as a smug environmental studies professor. It is the polar opposite of the Prosperity Gospel of Televangelists. But humanity deserves to be collectively humbled for how we have been treating each other and the planet.

People should be staying at home more, spending time with family, making homemade food and fixing things from DIY videos on youtube rather than buying a new junky one from China. This coronavirus is a time-out, putting the important things in perspective. That is the silver lining.

The experts who should know are reporting a time window of about a year and a half for the longevity of this outbreak.
