Do you have any amazing quotations that have been produced by the Faithful Slave over the years?

Remember it's important that we should learn to love and value truth for it’s own sake; to respect and honor it by owning and acknowledging it wherever we find it and by whomever presented. A truth presented by the Faithful Slave himself is just as true as a truth stated by God.

Share some of those amazing quotations that have fascinated you. I hope to catagorize them later for our use and edification. I'll start with a few of my favorites.

"No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family." -- AWAKE!, July 2009, p. 29.

"What, then, can we deduce from the fact that one of the 24 elders identifies the great crowd to John? It seems that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today. Why is that important? Because the correct identity of the great crowd was revealed to God’s anointed servants on earth in 1935. If one of the 24 elders was used to convey that important truth, he would have had to be resurrected to heaven by 1935 at the latest. That would indicate that the first resurrection began sometime between 1914 and 1935." – Watchtower, January 2007, p. 28 paragraphs 11-12

"It is a serious matter to represent God and Christ in one way, then find that our understanding of the major teachings and fundamental doctrines of the Scriptures was in error, and then after that, to go back to the very doctrines that, by years of study, we had thoroughly determined to be in error. Christians cannot be vacillating - 'wishy washy' - about such fundamental teachings. What confidence can one put in the sincerity or judgment of such persons?" Watchtower, May 15 1976, p. 298

"We cannot worship Jehovah in spirit and in truth if our worship is based on speculation. Truth and theory are not synonymous. " Watchtower, June 15, 1962 p.383

"Some people insult those who disagree with them by questioning character or motives instead of focusing on the facts. Name-calling slaps a negative, easy-to-remember label onto a person, a group, or an idea. The name-caller hopes that the label will stick. If people reject the person or the idea on the basis of the negative label instead of weighing the evidence for themselves, the name-caller's strategy has worked." --Awake!, June 22, 2000

Love the w61 12/15 p. 767 Question from Readers which likens women to cows...

    Amongst the gold:

"Ordinarily the male or bull would not think of approaching the female or cow for sex purposes. If he did approach he would not receive a hearty welcome, but, rather, he might be gored by the cow’s horns. There is no petting or sex relations between bull and cow permitted, because the female is not in physical condition to breed."

"As with a cow, when a young girl who has reached her puberty is in physical condition to conceive and become pregnant, her sex emotions are greatly aroused. "

The rest of the article really seems to mostly blame women for sexual immorality... Damn their beautiful hides!

Awake! 2009 July p.29 (p.28) "No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family."

Watchtower 2012 Apr 15 (p.12) “Consider just one example of the good that can come when a family loyally upholds Jehovah’s decree not to associate with disfellowshipped relatives. A young man had been disfellowshipped for over ten years, during which time his father, mother, and four brothers “quit mixing in company” with him. At times, he tried to involve himself in their activities, but to their credit, each member of the family was steadfast in not having any contact with him. After he was reinstated, he said that he always missed the association with his family, especially at night when he was alone. But, he admitted, had the family associated with him even a little, that small dose would have satisfied him. However, because he did not receive even the slightest communication from any of his family, the burning desire to be with them became one motivating factor in his restoring his relationship with Jehovah."

November 15th? Watchtower said, “Come to Jehovah’s Organization for salvation.” Not Jesus Christ. 1981, sorry

However, because he did not receive even the slightest communication from any of his family, the burning desire to be with them became one motivating factor in his restoring his relationship with Jehovah.

He had no desire to restore a relationship with Jehovah. He was emotional coerced into doing something he did not want to do. It is no different than when a person puts a gun to a family members head and tell you to rob a bank for them.

No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.

Proof positive of the hypocrisy of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Not worth looking up but there were articles t h e same year about 14 year old presiding overseers and elders not being children. Infighting amongst the writers?

I would guess that is why the mandated understanding of "superior authorities" in Romans 13 under Russell was that the "superior authorities" were governments, then Rutherfraud's mandated understanding was they were Jehovah and Jesus, and then under Snorr they were once again mandated to be governments. Nothing wishy-washy about that! And goodness, what a confidence booster in the governing body that was!

The Watchtower, January 1, 1942 p. 5 "Those who are convinced that the "Watch Tower" is publishing the opinion of a (man) should not waste time looking at it at all. Those who believe that (GOD) uses " The Watch Tower" as a means of communicating to his people, or of calling their attention to his prophecies, should study "The Watch Tower" with thankfulness of heart."

    Yearbook 1982 p. 226-7
As the number of Witnesses increased, the issue was continually brought to the attention of he public and the authorities alike. Finally, a law was approved decreeing that those who do not agree to do alternative service shall be sentenced to one single prison term, so that our young brothers are now given from 12 to 15 months? imprisonment...

From 1978 to 1980 there have been, on an average, 500 young brother?s a year in prison on account of the neutrality issue. It is calculated that up to the present, several thousand Witnesses have kept a clear conscience before Jehovah God in this respect.

United in Worship of the Only True God 1983 p. 167
An examination of the historical facts shows that not only have Jehovah?s Witnesses refused to put on military uniforms and take up arms but, during the past half century and more, they have also declined to do non-combatant service or to accept other work assignments as a substitute for military service.

    The Watchtower 1986 September 1 p. 20
...when Caesar demanded to have God's things, they acted in harmony with the principles stated at Acts 4:19 and Acts 5:29. Whether the issue was shedding blood, non-combatant military work, alternative service, or saluting an image such as a national flag, faithful Christians took the position that there was no middle ground. In some cases they were executed because of this stand, Matthew 24:9; Revelation 2:10

    Yearbook 1991 p. 166
"...attempts have been made (in Sweden) to have us substitute compulsory work for military service. In the early 1970's, a governmental committee was appointed to review the handling of conscientious objectors. For the sake of uniformity, the authorities wanted Jehovah's Witnesses to serve on terms similar to those for other religious groups and do compulsory work as a substitute.

Representatives of the branch office appeared before the committee, explaining that the Witnesses could not accept any substitute for military service whatsoever, no matter how praiseworthy the task.

    The Watchtower 1996 May 1 p. 20.
What, though, if the State requires a Christian for a period of time to perform civilian service that is a part of national service under a civilian administration? Here again, Christians must make their own decisions based on an informed conscience? What if the Christian?s honest answers to such questions leads him to conclude that the national civilian service is a ?good work? that he can perform in obedience to the authorities? This is his decision before Jehovah. Appointed elders and others should fully respect the conscience of the brother and continue to regard him as a Christian in good standing.

This is his decision before Jehovah. Appointed elders and others should fully respect the conscience of the brother and continue to regard him as a Christian in good standing.

I believe I can fix what they said to more accurately reflect the reality.

This is claimed to be his decision before Jehovah when is really the elders who will make the final judgement against him. Appointed elders and others while claiming to fully respect the conscience of the brother and that they continue to regard him as a Christian in good standing will in reality judge him as bad association, engage in malicious gossip about him and soft shun him and his family leading the rest of the sheeple congregation to do the same. The elders will judge him as unworthy of ever getting any so-called privileges other than toilet bowl duty. And he will forever after be a pariah in the congregation. So sayeth the governing body (secretly of course).

Be Ready To Drink The Kool-Aid Quotes:

"At that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not." (W 11/15/13 pg 19 par 17)

"...During the great tribulation, we may receive instructions that seem strange, impractical, or illogical. Of course, Jehovah will not speak to us personally. He will likely provide direction through his appointed representatives. That will hardly be the time to second-guess the direction or to view it with skepticism, wondering, ‘Is this really coming from Jehovah, or are the responsible brothers acting on their own?’ How will you fare during that crucial time in human history? The answer might be indicated by how you view theocratic direction now. If you trust the direction we receive today and readily obey, you will likely do the same during the great tribulation." (W Feb 2022 Study #6 pg6 par 15)

"...At times, this slave may give direction that we do not fully understand. For example, we may receive specific instructions designed to prepare us to survive a natural disaster that we think is unlikely to occur in our area. Or we may feel that the slave is being overly cautious during a pandemic. What should we do if we feel that the instructions given are not practical? We can think about how the Israelites benefited by heeding the counsel given through Joshua and Zerubbabel. We can also think about other Bible accounts that we have read. Sometimes God’s people received direction that did not appear to be practical from a human standpoint but turned out to be lifesaving." (W March 2022 Study #12 pg19 par 16)
