Cass-
But he is choosing to converse with 10 people. No one is forcing him to.
You're really sweet btw.
Hey SP
Ya know one of his comments were he felt as if he may be seen as snobbish if he did not respond, perhaps he feels the need to answer everything that being piled on all at once.
I dont know newbies at times have no idea exactly what to expect and get in the hot seat and to have everyone at once throwing something at him he may have felt compeled to answer and then became frustrated.
Just my thoughts
Cassi
oh and Sorry SP
I edited the above post not thinking anyone had replied. I said to Rem his comment was a continuation of another post.
Apologies SP.

Same thing. Do you want me to explain why?
How is it the same? Okay, I can accept the fact you are an atheist. You've done the research, believe it is valid, and therefore accept it and adjust your beliefs to what they are now. Okay, that I understand.
But that doesn't explain a carefee attitude toward something many people take very seriously. Just because the evidence points toward something to be true doesn't mean it's going to lead to peace and security.
See, I'm not questioning your belief, I'm curious about your attitude toward one issue. I mean, I could be an atheist and fear death, right?
SP
Do I admit when I am wrong? You bet your ass I do!!

I know Cass, it's part of the reason I think you're so sweet!

That's a good and fair question. Yes I'm an atheist and I'm not looking forward to death. I don't have any hope of life after death. Contemplating your death can be very sobering at times, but it's not paralyzing. It's just something you come to terms with. I don't know many people, atheist or not, who have a cavalier attitude toward death.

Craig, great post! It’s ironical that in just a few replies I can see discussion, debate and just plain dissing off already! Too funny!
LMAO!
It depends. If they feel sad or happy that's fine. If they feel that Genesis is accurate, no. They need to back it up.
very quietly pulling chair up to get closer to the keyboard
Sorry but I need to chime in AND
Even though this may come across as huffy, it only reads that way. I am giggling as I type! I just can't prove it.
I don't have to prove myself to anybody. I quit doing that!
As for "backing up what I believe" if I want to post here?
Phooey! LMAO! I think not!
Being the 2nd generation to be "raised" a JW and exposed to the JW religion 40+years,
and surrounded by a mob of Uncles who are reverends and ministers from other religions as well,
I have quite a lot of beliefs, doctrines, spirituality conflicts and anything else that may closely
resemble the belief in the existence of "higher beings” to sort out and I can damn well do
it in MY time, not someone else’s!
And not only that, but having a "prove it or shut up" attitude can take in a lot of territory.
That would eliminate most conversations on this forum and turn it into a Newsroom and the average Newsroom doesn't get everything absolutely right. AND it would be boring as hell.
Not only that but just because someone may not be able to "prove" something to someone else’s satisfaction does not make it false. I don’t need to prove that either.
How about "prove to me you are thinking for yourself and not just copying someone else’s
thoughts".
