I don't buy the OPs Pollyanna attitude. Its not a matter of if but when the next Spanish influenza that is deadly comes again. With the mobility of society it could mean many millions dead. This virus is contagious before it shows signs of one being infected. If this is not one that gets out of control, eventually one will pop up that will be.

It's ridiculous that China has cut travel from that region (and will likely stop more internal travel) but we're still allowing people from those regions.
I wonder why the TV is pumping out so much disinformation so hard - they are really pushing the "nothing to see here, no need for concern, there's no risk at all" here in Canada and the truth is they simply don't know and have no basis for those claims - the evidence is that this is a huge risk and it would be better to be safe than sorry.
The one good that may come of it is if it cripples China's economy - nothing could be better for the environment and wildlife than a smaller China.

I agree. In the next province over from you in BC, I would have expected there to be extreme restrictions. There is a large percentage of the population in Vancouver from China and I am certain that there are many flights there daily.
I don't get it either.
