...........why would an all-powerful Christ, whom the Bible describes as having been given "all authority", need 144,000 other king/priests as "helpers" to run his universal organization? (Matthew 28:18)

1 Corinthians 15:25 - "For he [not 144,000] must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet."

Sorry, I forgot!! Those 144,000 Melchizedek-types will be able to empathise with all of their weak "subjects" on earth.

hp chap. 16 p. 158 par. 24 - "Also, their having been humans will enable them to understand and sympathize with us. They know what it means to be tired, worried, discouraged. They know the effort needed to become more patient, kind and merciful. And some of them were women; they understand the feelings and special needs of women on earth."

So much for the paradise earth - if we need to rely on Tight Pants Tony et al to empathise & comfort us. Rein check.

144,000 was originally the number of Israelites who were supposed stand with Jesus in spirit form.

Revelation 7:3–8 (ESV)

Of course JW's say only the 144,000 can really " understand our human frailties and imperfections".

Ah you're being too harsh. Old tight pants Tony made a short appearance during the last talk today. He said that the GB loves each and every one of us 🤒

If you read every other Bible translation at Rev 5:10, it says ...rule on (upon) the earth'. Which appears to indicate that Christians will rule as kings and priest along with Christ ON the earth. The NWT says 'over' the earth which is misleading.

When humans write scriptures they can think only in terms of their experience. They have observed a King being assisted by a selected group of people, hence they chose a number:144000. They ignore the fact Almighty does need the help of humans to restore what has been lost.

Spot on DARKSPILVER. Diogenesister's various Bible translations shown that a priesthood will be serving upon the earth - not reigning as kings in heaven.

Even the WTBTS correctly translates the Greek in their Kingdom Interlinear Translation by stating that the priests will be UPON the earth, not OVER it. Wonder why they alter the wording in their RNWT?
