Why they even bother to report the partakers I don't know. They've already demonized them as mentally retarded, and ripped their status as part of the FDS.

    What's the point anymore?

    Huge reduction in aux. Pioneers.

Crazyguy, my thoughts exactly about the big drop in the ranks of aux. pioneers. This decline is telling indeed because this group is composed of members who are up and coming do-gooders who are unable or unwilling to lie about their FS hours. That means IMO that there are fewer "zealous" regular publishers who even attempt to reach the new lower required hours for the auxillary title.

The long slow decline in Japan continues, a country that used to be the Watchtower star pupil a couple of decades ago.

Ukraine also showing a massive 6% decrease. No doubt largely due to emigration and disruption around the civil conflict. But again another country that used to show massive increases.

One country doing slightly better this year than last is Brazil with a 3% increase over 2% last year. Good in one sense for the Watchtower, but also bad in the sense that it's a big country that is masking bigger declines elsewhere in the overall figure.

Slightly strange that the number of congregations has increased at a faster rate of 2.3% than average publishers at 1.5%.

Poland in decline yet again, one of the worst performing major countries for JWs for a couple of decades now.

Interesting description of the succession crisis after Russell.

Many of the brothers could not imagine anyone taking Brother Russell’s place. His will, published in The Watch Tower of December 1, 1916, outlined his wishes regarding the work that he had taken the lead in for so long. Yet, a question remained: Who would succeed him in this work?
That question would be decided at the annual meeting of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylva- nia, scheduled for early 1917. Those in attendance took a vote, and the results were unanimous. But the ensuing months revealed that this unanimity was to be short-lived, and fiery trials awaited the brothers.

No mention of the fact that Russell's will explicitly stated that no single person should take control as Rutherford went on to do.

Ukraine also showing a massive 6% decrease. No doubt largely due to emigration and disruption around the civil conflict. But again another country that used to show massive increases.

To explain this, the decrease is due to Crimea now not being part of the Ukraine. Russia's Witness population grew 5 percent when it annexed the territory.

15,177 partakers, 7.5% increase over previous year, if this growth rate is maintained it will take 32 years for the number of partakers to reach 153,552.

    Houston, we have a problem!

Another annual report another reappearance of the Joker!

Well if the Ukrainian decrease is explained by adding the Crimean numbers to Russia that makes a real decrease in Russia.

The number of JWs in Ukraine decreased by a larger amount than the JWs in Russia increased. So at least one or perhaps both countries are in real terms decline.
