At the end of the day we do have to figure out a lot for ourselves and that's what it should be all about - figuring this world out for ourselves and where we fit into it. If I ever have kids they're going to be individuals not objects to manipulate into my way of thinking - although I am very open minded, I wouldn't be proud of that.
some times, other ex-jw's piss me off, not sure....

: I am not saying what I feel is bad. Some may feel I am morally corrupt, I am bisexual, have many piercings, watch violent movies, erotica, have a tattoo and I do not have any religion or beleive in God.
Of course, ex-dubs in general don't give a rat about your personal lifestyle if that lifestyle doesn't hurt people. I'm part of that bunch.
The "violent movies" part bothers me a bit, though. Not that I care.

What if it does hurt people, Farkel?

But Farkel, that wasn't my point. My point was that I just noticed a trend. That those (few) that when they leave, lead dustructive lives, left the religion (cult) just to do bad things, and sometimes, most likely will get sucked back in. I wasn't the only one that thought this, the whole first page of this thread seemed in agreement, added great points etc.
I wasn't stating that ex JW's leave to do bad things, I was saying the few that do, end up leading a destructive life, whatever that may be, and then gets sucked back in the cult, being easily influenced, etc... I feel that doesn't apply to those that post to this forum, because it seems the peopler here left because of differences in beleifs and how things are run and are doing research, putting in the time, etc.. (I consider drug dealing, to be dustructive, or being addicted, etc. I do not consider occasional use destructive, it depends on the situation I guess.).

Kaethra,

We should all strive to do things that don't hurt people. Except if your friend is a masochist, I guess. But I don't understand stuff like that.

Just HOW can you define this assertion of yours as a "trend?" You said "few" do this, and yet it is a "trend?" Trends tend to mean a large portion of people are doing or not doing something. Please explain your answer.
Everyone who leaves a Cult like the WTS expresses their freedoms in various ways and some go crazy. Look what has happened in Iraq with the looting and such. This is not a "trend" I think, but a simple expression of freedom and outrage for being enslaved by a madman for so long. Time will tell on Iraq.
That aside, I was one of those who left the JW religion after being born and raised in it and probably boinked more females than your average horny ten guys who never were raised to have any so-called "morals" to begin with. I got out of that stage in about six months. It was part of the process of leaving a Cult: "Freedom" from religious repression at last! I settled down, realized that that wasn't appropriate and have led a basic moral life ever since. That was 31 years ago, by the way.

How do you define "great points, etc."? Are those the points that you agree with? Or are they "great points, etc." for another reason? Please explain.

Wow Fark...only six months of debauchery for you.
Was it REALLY debauchery?
