Things You Still Agree With The JWs On
yep--christmas. cost me a bloody fortune this year
not a damn thing
Yes "not bare arms against my fellow man". Two young male Mormons at my door a few years ago, I ask them if you are serving in the military and on the battle field you come face to face with another young Mormon fighting for his country. What's God view on that???They said they never thought about it.....
Do you have any?
They believe in being peaceful. I'm not necessary against/anti war, but I prefer that to be the last resort. I agree in their concept of thriving for peace, though they use the Bible to support that concept (go figure).
Also, I agree that abstinence from sexual practices is a good thing and protect people from certain things, but unlike them, I also believe that abstinence is only one of the different ways in being responsible with ones body, and with the decisions you make.
So in essence I do agree with them in certain things at a conceptual level. After that, we divert quite a lot.
one could have respect toward in certain social behaviors such as drug, alcohol, smoking, lose sexual activity other defilements of the flesh but as its known you dont have to have a religion to self direct yourself to a health conscience lifestyle.
One can engage in all those things and still have a health conscience lifestyle. It really is about how you do it. And yes, I include 'defilements of the flesh' in that statement. It is all about learning to do those things with an understanding of the risks involved, with moderation and balance, with an understanding of why you do those things, and of course with informed consent.
There are a few things that I agree with... for me personally, but not for everyone. Abortion and military service isn't for me. I would be devastated if I ever killed a person.
Are we talking about what they teach or what they actually practice, because those aren't always the same thing.
I agree that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
I agree with the Borg that life is hard work and sometimes very difficult. I don't agree with their solution of inventing a fantasy scenario whereby a supreme being waves a wand and makes all the nastiness go away.
We and only us have the ability to make the world a better place and the whole point of this cult is a security blanket for people who can't cope with that fact.
@Fred Franzstone JWs agree on "the importance of family"...
In principle yes, I'm talking about principle because in practice no one lives by their principles.
