Hey LB, where in Maui will you be? I'll be at the Whaler in Kaanapali from May 24 - June 1

For the entire month of may I'll be at the dive lodge owned by the Maui Dive shop in Kihei. From June 1st on we'll be neighbors of yours at the Embassey. I know Sabine and Makena are going to be there. Are we talking Apostaluau??

    Do you like Canada???

just slightly dottie ... we go there every year to visit my dad as well as holiday. We're working on the citizenship!

The kids love going there and know all about it, what the flag is etc ...

We normally go to Calgary and down to Lethbridge and then round the Rockies from Waterton up to Banff, Lake Louise & Jasper.

Last year we made it up to Edmonton and met Concerned Mama & her family which was really nice (yay!) and also popped into the USA (Great Falls Montana) which was a nightmare. Going through customs on the USA and Canadian side highlighted the difference:

    • USA: Absolutely paranoid, no sense of humour, arrogant, no conversational ability. I felt like I was going to be arrested.
    • Canadian: Friendly and welcoming with a sense of humour. I now know where the guys cousin lives in England etc... (you get the picture)

I'd move to Canada tomorrow if I could.

Where did you go on your last vacation? Sardinia

Where is the most Exotic place you have visited? Morocco

What place would you recommend to a single person? Manhattan or the High Atlas

What place would you recommend to a married couple? Paris/Florence

What place would you recommend to a family with children? Norway

Have any of you experience strange or unusual events during your travels? Being bombed in Kiryat Shemona on the Israeli/Lebanese border. Visiting a cult HQ in Brooklyn

Where is the next place you are going to go to (vacation)? Poolewe, Scotland (this weekend hooray!)

But the best holiday I had was cycling around the island of Corsica, and the most exotic experience was sailing at night across a bay on Milos beneath the Milky Way while trailing my fingers in the water and witnessing phospheresence as we headed to a restaurant for dinner.

Where did you go on your last vacation? Combined

to see the area and visit relatives.

Where is the most Exotic place you have visited? (three times)

What place would you recommend to a single person? I would travel to a place where I might like to re-locate.

What place would you recommend to a married couple? Most any place they haven’t been to together. All-inclusives at a tropical beach are very nice.

What place would you recommend to a family with children? Kids love the beach and any of the Fun Parks like Disneyland, etc. (We prefer to travel now where children are somewhere else.)

Have any of you experienced strange or unusual events during your travels? A man died within a few yards of us on the beach in the . He was bitten by a poisonous sea snake. Also, the year before, same place, we had the edge of a hurricane go through. We've had two very scary airplane trips under severe weather conditions. Swiming in in the ocean at Pensacola, FL, unknowingly in the company of a couple of big sharks. (No more ocean swimming for me!) Otherwise just the standard waiting in airports, struggling with luggage, etc. We always call the first day and last day of our vacation "airport" days.

Where is the next place you are going to go to (vacation)? We are taking our first cruise in a couple months out of to and Cosumel. No rental car to deal with this time. We are discussing a trip to Nova Scotia in the future, as well as another cruise down through all the Southern Caribbean Islands.

Oops, what happened to my first sentence? It was supposed to read that we traveled to Dallas, Texas and Lexington, KY to see the area and visit relatives.

Where did you go on your last vacation? The Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas - my family and I go there every Dec & New Years - they have the largest aquarium in the Caribbean - you can walk through tunnels with fish swimming over head. There's this cool pyramid water slide I nearly died on. Stay in the Royal Tower and get a water view. They have a bridge suite that costs $25,000 per night! (no, we didn't stay there!) Where is the most Exotic place you have visited? The Scottish Highlands - I heard bagpipes echoing through the hills and mist - Froze my butt off in the summer but just a beautiful place. And I love their brogue - very sexy. What place would you recommend to a single person? New York City - an exciting place to explore & have fun. What place would you recommend to a married couple? Maui, that place is paradise on earth. I hear Italy (Portofino, Florence and Venice) are romantic but haven't been yet. What place would you recommend to a family with children? Disney World - It's like a giant playground. Have any of you experience strange or unusual events during your travels? I saw Tiger Woods at Atlantis, he dyed his hair blond - a strange sight - It was about 4 in the morning and we were headed to the airport, the lobby was practically deserted except for him and his friends. My brother gaped at him and said, 'Are you Tiger Woods?' he smiled and said 'Naw, who's he?' Then his friends laughed. He dumped the pretty girlfriend he was with about 2 months later. Where is the next place you are going to go to (vacation)? London to see family & bug the Queen:)

Hey LB, we will be there the last week of June through the middle of July, then to the Chicago area for Makena's 30th High School reunion!!

Razorblade, I've been to Eleuthra (sp?) in the Bahamas, it has a pink sand beach that's part of the Club Med. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Unfortunately, the year we went the main road was washed out by a huge storm, the northern tip of the island was unaccessible by car. I'm curious, why do you recommend it for singles?
