Holy nativity Batman! On jw broadcasting. Final song for this year's convention. Apparently the theme of "preach the good news" convention is the good news of the Messiah being born!!

Yes, it was a surprise to many JW's, who felt the song titled "Good News!" would be about the good news of the paradise earth, but its based on good news that the angels gave to the shepherds about the messiah being born. and its one song where the name Jehovah doesn't appear. Just a shortened version - Jah. These are the lyrics:

    Good News

    “Glory in the heights above”—

    Good news for all men—

When God’s Son arrived in Bethlehem.

    Hope for those who mourn,

    A Savior has been born!

    (CHORUS)

    Good news, this good news—

    Joy for all mankind—

    Praise Jah for his light!

    Good news, this good news—

    Preach with all your might.

    Good news, Christ is born—

The way, the truth, the life.

Bet it sounds like a Disney song.

NOT the ones from the old Disney movies.

The crap they're trying to peddle now.

You can bet it will be dreary with terrible harmonics. If perchance it is somewhat good it will be rewritten

I barely managed the first verse, it is so dire.

Personally, I prefer "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"!

They keep trying out the Jesus thing...Great Teacher etc. It's been decades of indoctrination that Jehober is your "guy." Except for prayers ending "in Jesus name," (after repeating Jah's name at least 5 times during the prayer), and his party once a year for "remembrance", there is really no relationship with Jesus. They aren't supposed to...only the select few are so privileged.

It's still "Jehovah this and Jehovah that." This will be a hard ship to turn. Maybe the young will get the fever, but WT will need to work on their language.

When will they be singing this song?

December 25? Nisan 14? All throughout the year?

And what's next? Singing "Happy Birthday to You" to Jesus?
