I know a couple who've been married over 40 years, she's JW, he's catholic. Both very active in their respective religions. They make it work by respecting each other and allowing each other the freedom to worship in their own way, even though without the other. They make a point of socialising with each other's friends and as a result they are welcomed on both sides as a couple.. Unusual, I know but for them it works.

Luge62, I agree with Frazzled. I came to this site in a very similar situation, I was blind to most things JW even though I'd done a lot of research... that said, I didn't just run away as many people advised.. it's not that easy when you love someone as you know. But please listen still as this is not an easy path to follow. Fortunately I was able to wake my partner up to the truth about this cult, but it's still difficult. We live together but she has been shunned by all of her family for the past year, with no end in sight as she doesn't want to get reinstated.

That is what this cult does, it divides families and breaks apart homes. There's is nothing good in it. I'm sure you love your woman, but be prepared for a long hard road ahead. If you get together and she stays in the cult, she will be forever trying to convert you, and if you resist she will start seeing you as belonging to satan. My partner thought for the longest time I was sent by satan to bring her out of the religion, that was pretty shocking to hear later on once she had woken up. She now feels bad that she thought that way, but it's how she was trained to think. Anyone not a JW is part of satans world..

Tell her you've been reading about witnesses on apostate sites...see what her reaction is. If she's ok with it, then maybe she's mentally out.

๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ขshe went to a meeting and when she got home she told me that she can't be my girlfriend and that she's going to be disfellowshipped. I know how she truly feels about me and it fucking sucks that the JW can have that much control over a person. My heart is broken.

If she fades away, her exhusband remarries and you don't get caught as to any aspect of your relationship, then quietly marry, she will be considered weak, not necessarily wicked.

Fading is her best option until then as well as a civil marriage with no family involvement in your relationship until after the marriage.

Good luck and don't get sucked into the Borg, friend.

    Welcome to the site.
