Not struggling at all. Again, after 1964, which party courted the votes of the pro segregationist southern wing of the democratic party? The republicans have carried the south in every election since 1964 except one. (1976) .
I'm not even trying to claim "all Republicans bad". It just irritates me when they trot out the whole "party of Lincoln" thing without recognizing that quite alot has shifted since 1865.

Looks like S. Dakota, Arkansas and Kentucky just banned abortions as well. 4 states in just a few hours! Lots of cute little babies are going to be saved.
Hopefully people will start to view abortion as not just a medical procedure. It is a very serious life-ending procedure that will have life-long consequences and psychological burdens.

This is a win for the Constitution and especially the 10th amendment.
It states that the federal government has only those powers delegated to it by the Constitution, and that all other powers not forbidden to the states by the Constitution are reserved to each state.Democrats have suddenly remembered what a woman is and haven't been this upset since the federal government desegregated public schools.

I can't wait until the riots start. Ironically, but not surprisingly, since the issue fell back to the states, and since most blue states will keep it legal, and since most rioters live in blue states, the left will burn down their own towns and cities in protest.
The real special ones will then look around and marvel at the institutional racism keeping them poor.

Are you saying that passing laws makes no difference to peoples behavior? Only there are people demanding guns be made illegal, someone should let them know. Also, unlike abortion, I think there may be something about guns in the constitution.
Do you believe contraception is more or less accessible now than 50 years ago? Also, that there are more options available?

Mostly hysteria.
This is the right decision. Abortion is not a constitutional right, that's basically the decision. The decision is not about the merits of abortion itself.
The supreme court doesn't and shouldn't write law, so now the decision goes back to the people, the way it should be.
Most states will continue to allow abortions for the first 2 - 3 months which seems reasonable. Perhaps a few will ban it completely.
In the state I live in, abortion will be allowed into the third trimester, which is absolutely ridiculous. Here, you really are killing a baby.
