*Dizzy* Christianity - Fraudulent and Evil Rotten - from beginning to end

Was going to bump the other thread, but, this....just.....

    I mean:

    http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/murderers.htm

Some fun the early christians had:

The Pope's Pears: The vaginal pear was used on woman who had sex with the Devil or his familiars. The rectal pear was used on passive male homosexuals and the oral pear was used on heretical preachers or lay persons found guilty of unorthodox practices. Inserted into the mouth, anus or vagina of the victim, the pear was expanded by use of the screw until the insides are ripped, stretched and mutilated, almost always causing death. The pointed ends of the 'leaves' were good for ripping the throat, intestines or cervix open.

    *dizzy*

    I mean....how....just.....HOW...

And that, sadly, is not even the TIP of the iceberg.....

    The Holy Trinity:

When a sinner had "blasphemed the holy name of god", or when he had perhaps told some truth about the local priest, it was customary to apply the holy trinity. The Iron mask was heated in an open fire until red hot, then put upon his head. The scourge, also red hot, was then applied to his back. After the mask had cooled, it was removed from the sinner, taking skin (and usually eyeballs) with it. The prisoner's mouth was then opened and red hot pincers were used to remove the prisoner's tongue.
It is interesting to note that the Holy Trinity was designed not to cause death, so that the maimed, blinded and mute prisoner could live out his days as a burden to his family and as a testimony to what happens when one lets his tongue wag too freely.

    Having fun, yet?

Sorry, but if the christian god actually existed, no one would be have even been able to do something so obscenely disgusting in his name.

Surely not for HUNDREDS of years.

We can only thank secular humanity for forcing laws that outlaw such behavior - although not much worse still goes on around the world on a regular basis.

Sorry, but if you worship a god that either supported that behavior or was powerless to stop mere humans from doing it in his name, you are sick.

I saw that one too last night - made me sick! And to think that a many christian churches in the world today are probably descendendents from this cruelty and hatred in some way or another. I just hope that this kind of thing can never, ever take place again. Have you noticed how there seems to be very little mentioned about the inquisition by the churches themselves who carried out these atrocities hundreds of years ago? It almost always seems to be brought up by historians. Obviously Christianity doesn't want it's facade of being a "loving and tolerant" religion blown away. Thank goodness there are secular historians out there who are unafraid to delve in the church's past and expose the vile cruelty that went on. And while we're at it, isn't it great that seemingly every day the WT is being exposed more and more as the fraudulent sham it really is?

And yes, it is disgusting that torture and murder are still going on all over the world. If there really was a loving, all powerful god, don't you think he would have created the human race without these evil tendencies?

Wow, unbelievable. I visited that site briefly when it was posted on the other thread, and you know what? I'm just not ready for all that yet.

Please don't confuse Christianity with the crimes of the dark ages Roman Catholic Church. Many similar tortures as shown here were used on Bible-believing christains who disagreed with Rome.

New Testament Christianity should follow Jesus and not barbarism. Just because a Church (which falsly claimed to represent Christ) did these terrible things does not make Christ himself untrue.

It seems mankind is highly creative when it comes to inflicting pain on another member.

    Ugh!

    hooberus, you're missing the point.

There is, as we have established, no evidence that god exists. None. Not ever. Please feel free to prove otherwise, as long as we allow prove to mean 'show in a measurable, repeatable, objective fashion that can externally verified today'.

If the lack of proof of nature or desires of god is a root cause of religious conflict and infighting, let alone moral horros as these pictures show, how can god witholding such proof be consistant with a loving and caring creator?

I look forward to your answer with interest.

Just because a Church (which falsly claimed to represent Christ) did these terrible things does not make Christ himself untrue.

Abaddon has hit the nail on the head in response to this.

As there is no proof for god or christ, torture like sited above (and then some!) can occur in their names. Indeed, lack of proof causes conflict about the interpretation which the very CAUSE of all of the above.

Apply even to the modern day - the christians maintain their god is true and the one and only all powerful in the universe (and they have a holy book that proves it *thump* *thump*), while at the same time the muslims ALSO claim their god is true and the one and only all powerful god in the universe (and THEY have a holy book to prove it *shakes book in air*).

    Think.

If said all powerful god really existed, it could EASILY have established its existence in a clear, cannot be refuted way, to EVERYONE IN THE WORLD they exist and their designs for man (remember, you are talking about a being that created the entire universe here. Surely, appearing as a pillar of fire in front of each and every human on the planet, then reciting what it had in mind for them in their native tongue, should be no problem at all, right?)

By allowing the conflicts over its existence to continue, indeed, by being so ambigious about even existing, the horrors as cited above, and much worse, are the only result.

How can you claim a loving god exists, then at the same time just leaves enough 'proof' (as you would have it) it exists as to cause mass campaigns of murder and torture of the people of the earth against each other.

Either your god does NOT exist at all, exists and is powerless to actually DO anything, or exists and gets great pleasure out of watching human suffering.

In any case, worshipping such a being is disgusting.

well Xander, if the crimes of the mideval Roman Catholic church disproves Christianity, then wouldn't the crimes of Pagan roman leaders like Diocletian disprove paganism?

"Along with these social reforms, Diocletian began religious reform which manifested itself in the persecution of the Christian faith. He sought to restore the Roman religion and found Christianity to be a threat to the peace of the Roman state.a This desire to stamp out the Christian religion caused him to issue edicts in AD 303 calling for the destruction of all Christian places of worship and written materials as well as the execution of Christians. This persecution of the Christian faith seemed to be a catalyst for the religion to spread even more rapidly. e"
