Helmet law NOT repealed..... you must have medical insurance and be over 18 (or 21).

Here:

Texas exempts riders 21 yrs. or older if they either 1) can show proof of successfully completing a motorcycle operator training and safety course or 2) can show proof of having a medical insurance policy.

I have medical insurance but the only bike course I ever took was the test to get the M on my license. I have a helmet but I'm sure it wont look right with whatever bike I wind up with.

We gonna have a chance to go riding???

Preferably before we drink tooooo much?

I dont see enuff time to fit riding in, so I trashed the idea of bringing either of my bikes. I almost hauled the chopper down, but it would be a shame to have it just sit there while I have fun with all the visitors.

My friends in Texas tell me that the new law is ok, not much harrasment going on. I dont usually wear one, even in a "helmet" state, so its no biggy to me.

I'm looking at the $$$ aspect of it. If Valis can find somewhere for me to rent a CBR 750 I would be TONS happier. I like sport bikes, not cruisers. I owned a KZ1100 and I hated it. I then bought a Honda VTR Interceptor and LOVED that bike. Too bad I sold it or I would have ridden it down to Dallas!
