elders have to take care they are assigned to work with someone else and are to be supervised.

This 'someone else' that is to supervise, is that to be only an Elder that is fully aware of what the person is accused or was convicted, or can this be assigned to any other JW who is not necessarily aware of why they are to accompany the other person?

sir82, you are being illogical. Why would WT insist on the innocence of a convicted criminal? Of course they would not.

Still waiting to see evidence for your assertion that "most of the time" the police are unable to prosecute if there are not 2 eyewitnesses.

I never said literal eyewitnesses, you implied that. The elders can hold to that Bible principle, they are not the police with other means of investigation. The elders can only go thus far. The rest is up to the police. And yes, if the police find no proof then they can't do anything. Even in the case of Kendrick, where Kendrick confessed, and where the wife and step daughter went to the police, the police didn't do anything. And neither did the child protective services.

Getting back to the CC case, let it be clearly understood that the reason the WTS, was deemed liable was because of the irresponsible actions between the two congregations of which Jonathan Kendricks was transferring from and to.

To refer someone who was said to be good with children and completely avoiding this individuals past behavior is negligently irresponsible, lying and devious to the facts.

If the original congregation had openly stipulated that JK had prior misconduct with children and that he should be watched and perhaps not put with children alone., then this particular court case would have been squashed and never made itself into court.

Nitty Gritty. You are mis informed and delusional. My daughter's abuser is in state prison(former elder) No two witnesses to the molestation. No proof other than her 29 pages of declaration.

Though they through his ass in jail for 8 months because he did confess.

The police have other means at their disposal toward people who deny these accusations.

The problem in the past with the WTS is that it had instituted a direction to not disclose these situations to the police for in doing so it would bring reproach onto Jehovah's organization, better to let the organization handle these situations internally. The end result, many cases of pedoifllia were never resolved and the perpetrator got off Scott free, never seeing a day in jail.

Nitty-Gritty - Even in the case of Kendrick, where Kendrick confessed, and where the wife and step daughter went to the police, the police didn't do anything. And neither did the child protective services.

    I'll make the math easy:

    1. Don't report the child rape to authorities: 0 probability to prosecute and protect the public

    2. Report the child rape to the authorities: A greater than 0 probability to prosecute and protect the public

Which one do you prefer? Would it help if I substituted "Child Rape" for "Murder"? Would it help if I substituted the "JWs" for another religion, etc.?

The problem arises when Watchtower fails to alert and allow the Justice system to judge these criminals. Elders need to call the police immediately even in suspected cases of abuse. Not call headquarters. Call the police.

Until they adjust policy in this regard they will continue to lose millions in a court of law.

@Finkelstein However, if there is a known predator in the congregation the parents of all minor children are discreetly informed of who he/she is.

If the parents of a child who they suspect has been molested by a member of the congregation choose to go to the elders to report the perpetrator, there is nothing and nobody stopping them from going to the police at the same time. Some parents may not even go to the elders but straight to the police. After all, they are reporting a suspected crime, not merely a sin. They have every right to do so without question, I mean duh!
