When I was 18 in my first house, I got in from work and was making a cuppa tea, as you do, when my stereo switched on playing really scary organ music, this was the beginning of the Faith Track by George Michael, just as the song was about to start, the stereo switched off completely!! In my panic I grabbed my cuppa and sat on the step of my front door awaiting my macho hubbie to come home from work.

When I told him he burst out laughing, as the stereo was new, he had been trying to program it to wake us up in the morning by getting it to play for a minute in the morning, but had set the time to 6pm instead of 6am!!!

I think that most JWs are a little paranoid, to things and there is usually a perfectly good explanation. When you hear these stories it is usually a friend of a friend.

For those who have had bizzare experiences, I am not calling you paranoid, I'm too new to this site to make enemies!!!

    I've had many experiences.

When I was 9 my mum worked in a chip shop and I wandered into the back room alone only to see a man wearing an apron plucking chickens, smilling down at me. I ran to get my mother "who is that man?" and when we went back into the room, there was noone there, and no chickens.

Then one day when out with a friend (aged about 11) we were walking through a wooded area and saw children wearing victorian clothing playing in the woods. As we approached, they turned and saw us, and ran away...but as they ran they totally disappeared into thin air.

Each night at home (for a while) I would see an awful looking man stood in the doorway (silhouette) with shining eyes. I didn't tell anyone, until just this year when I mentioned it to my sister (who had shared my room as a child) and she went white and said that she'd seen him too.

Then theres the time when I was spoken to by a ghost and the message was later found to be true, something I couldn't have possibly known.

I know that people say that ghost stories are lies, or imagination, but I can tell you that these accounts are true. There are many others, but I'd be typing them all day! I accept that hallucination is a possibility for some thngs, but when physical objects move, or you get information you couldn't have known, then I think that shows there is an entity there.

When I was a teenager, I did some work after opening times for a department store that is well known to have had sightings of a medieval nun - apparently it rests on the old foundations of some ecclesiastical building. Well, that evening I just happened to look up from what I was doing, and a good hard stone's throw away from me I saw, as clear as anything the shape of a robed figure (no face visible) slowly floating across the floor! From that night on I knew that 'ghosts' or whatever you wish to call them exist. I was not tired, nor was the background dark so that I might shrug it off as an illusion. So this is one person you cannot change the mind of on this subject. The Bible also talks about the disciples believing they had seen an 'apparition'. Although they were wrong, they evidently knew about such a thing. It seems to me that the fallen angels have some sort of morbid interest in shocking or deceiving (as in that the dead are not really dead) people with this type of phenomenon.

I've been having alien paranoia lately. My friend Char and I were driving this weekend and saw a strange light in the sky that looked like a giant tear drop. It was like white neon, and it stayed in the same position for about 10 minutes, then just disappeared... it probably did help that we were listening to tool... anyhoo.

a few months ago i woke from a deep sleep by the sound of a siren... i looked out my window and nothing was outside, no cars, no people, not even a breeze, it was so still... i looked out the peep hole in the living room, nothing. i started freaking out, i knocked on my roommates door and begged her to come outside with me, because i thought there were aliens outside my room. i screamed, "can't you hear that noise!?" and she said, no. so then i thought i was hearing things and started bugging out more... we went outside and realized that the building fire alarm for our complex was right outside my window... over active imagination. lol.

i heard alot of stories when i was going to meetings though. one about a householder's posessed cat who would play with the possesed toy fire engine that would just roll around the house. the one about a couple who tried throwing a tazmanian devil doll away, burning it, throwing it in a river and it would keep comign back into their house untill they prayed to jehovah amd threw it away... and it never came back (what a crock). supposedly when my friend was little her troll dolls started walking around her room...

my old best friend's mom told us that she used to have a possesed car that would play any kind of music in her tape deck... except kingdom melodies. whenever she put a kingdom melodies tape in (or a taped talk, ect.) the car would spit it out into the back seat. then one day she yelled for whatever demon was in her car to get out, put a k/m tape in and was able to listen to it. a few days later, her car just burst into flames while sitting in front of her house... she said it was the demons testing her faith. LOL.

    ahh, the momories...

I agree with Sirona that when something moves there's more to it than hallucination.

A few years ago I worked at a nursing home (wife and oldest daughter do now). I was in Housekeeping and my duties kept me on the lowest floor quite a while. This was on third shift. The place has a rep among the staff for being haunted.

One night I heard what to me sounded like a fire door in Laundry shutting loudly (no one inside). A security guy refused to check so I wrote him up, but...I'd hear footsteps when mopping, look up...no one there.

Another night I thought I saw movement out of the corner of my eye, and took it to be a day shift H'keeper who was known to come in early. Curious, I walked to the corner she'd passed and looked down the hall...you guessed it, and all the doors were locked. Had she been there and run I would have heard that.

Once when mopping, a heavy black cord on a floor-polishing piece of equipment (the cord was three wires, with insulation keeping them apart and thick black rubber around all three) began swaying slowly back and forth as it sat, unplugged, off to one side. There were no doors open and no one could have given it a shove because with the weight of the cord it would've stopped swaying quickly. After five to ten seconds, it stopped.

I saved the best for last:

My wife's told me how hanging plants swing around sometimes on her floor. I was on lunch break with them (she's a Nurse Aide) and it happened. I went over to the plant as it swung, standing so I could reach around it. It kept rotating back and forth. I waved my hands around, feeling for breezes...nothing. My hands passed all around it and I couldn't find any source of energy that would move it. Needless to say, some of the staff are very frightened when this happens.

    Joannadandy-

I know you are in St. Cloud, I grew up in Sauk Rapids. What school and restaurant are you talking about? Just curious.

I remember you mentioning the Red Carpet in another post, brought back alot of memories. I used to frequent the Hombre out on 23. It was a great place when the drinking age was 18 and I was 18.

I thought the ghost thing was a load of crap too, until this year.

I had an old friend from my high school days pass into my life that had what I would define as having a cluttered mind in conjunction with some evil qualities including strange delusions. This person moved nearby and was in constant contact with me. At this very time my house became full of "ghosts", bothering me to the point that I couldn't be alone in the house. Once this person moved away the "ghosts" stopped, for which I am very grateful. I am usually such a level-headed person and this was such a dark period in my life.

    Ohhhhhh

Once when I was deeply concentrating with a good book, "someone" laid their hand on my left shoulder. Instinctively, I responded by turning around. There was no one there. I was absolutely alone in the house. Husband out with his buddies. And son, staying overnite with friends.

I was unnerved, and went to get a drink of water. I was frightened, but kept telling myself it must have been my emagination. I went back to reading my book. Then within minutes, someone called my name clearly and softly. K A R E N.......

For so long, I had been told that things like this were only a sign that "demons" were lerking near. But a feeling of great comfort came over me and I wasn't afraid. In fact, I addressed "it" as my guardian angel and thanked "it" for the company.

The book I was reading? Crisis of Conscience, by Raymond Franz

The reason why I remember this so vividly, is that I was "still in". I had not yet made my conclusive decision to leave the org. When that happened, I took it as a sign I was doing the right thing. I really have no idea exactly what happened that night, but it was very real to me.

    Crazy,

Well anyways, one day I come home and unlock the deadbolt. It relocks. Ok Hah hah. I unlock it again. It relocks. Im thinking funny guys. But then I remembered my roomates were not home. I unlocked it again. It relocks. So I think, funny, it must be my friend Will. Will doesnt have a key. I unlocked it again. Open the door. No ones there.

Deadbolts can do that in some instances. Deadbolts are kept open and/or closed by a spring mechanism. If the deadbolt isn't thrown all the way, it can snap back, and vise-versa.
