Well when someone would tell me that so and so had been DF they would say, "I wonder why or what they did" and I would always say..."well they got DF cause they were unrepentant" because there are an endless amount who do things "wrong" and then feel bad and confess to the elders their sin, and providing they dont repeat it, arent DF.

Hayling Island? !!
Ain't that the place where the beach is all big pebbles?
Indeed it is, Sir Ozzie. Hayling Island is best know for it's plethora of cockles, which are scrumptious once boiled and soaked in vinegar and pepper. It's good for wind surfing too.

Depending on the age or sex of the DFed person: #5 or #26: Who did they sleep with?/Was it another JW or a "worldly" person?

I'm afraid it's number 1 for me, with a slight wonder at what they did. As a loyal drone I bought into the Borg line big time and totally trusted the judgement of the elders (how niave I was). I once chastised a sister for speculating though, in case the DF'd one saw the light and came back. I always thought even such wicked people as unrepentant sinners deserved some dignity.

in answer to the question posed.....
23. I can't wait for the local needs talk, to find out what they did.
sad, but true.

3. I wonder what they did?
These ones....once dfed.....became an object to occationally stare at.....as if you could tell what they had done by looking hard enough at them.
If it was immorality, you always new if it was another witness by being observant enough to see who else was dfed or at least restricted in some way.
Usually the gossip came around quickly enough.....everyone knew why anyway.

Come on!
None of you gasped silently, "I hope they didn't squeal on me"??
Englishman, I loved your story. Took me back to my teenage years and my first date with Emalucy. Everyone's dream date. She had already made the rounds with the studs in the circuit and must have been desperated or seeking a new innocence to waste a perfectly good evening at the drive-in theater with me.
But, then, just a few months later we heard she had been DF'd. I didn't want to know anything about it. She had a questionable reputation mostly due to who she had been dating. My short experience with the goddess was 'beyond reproach'. But it did put me on the list of suspects that I am sure the elders extracted from her. I do admit a moment of unwarrented anxiety.
So I'm the only one?

Just that comment should make "honest-hearted" ones have doubts that the WTS leads "true" Christians, shouldn't it?
The Borg still delights in criticising the Catholic Church for its terror tactics in the Middle Ages. Yet here we have good folk in terror of the elders. What an abomination!
Thanks for posting jst2laws.

I can only remember hearing of two disfellowshipments being announced. In both cases, I already knew what was going on. The first was when I was still a study, shortly before I was baptized. My conductor, on the short list to being an elder, was also aware of the skullduggery going on with a married couple. Both disliked each other and wanted out of the marriage and were sleeping around. SHe was DF'd and he moved to aother hall. When I asked why it was that only she was DF'd I was told that he was going to be too. Of course, that didn't happen.
The second was my sister-in-law so I knew all aboutt hat too. Of course, I never should have been told about the first either. But, the rumor mill has to feed the studies, right?
