How many Artists here? Which field of Art?

I know I asked this absolutely yonks back, then by the name of Celtic, but with so many newcomers here I thought no harm but to ask once again.

How many artists do we have here or working in art related fields including film, music, theatre, environment, gardening, sculpture, graphic design, illustration, fine art, photograpy etc etc?

What hobbies do you have? How do you see your future artistic horizons opening up? Do you feel that 'art therapy' is particularly beneficial for individuals coming out of a high control group like the jw's? If you could put together your own arts based workshops, what themes would you like to employ, and finally ....

Of artistic imagination, given artistic license, what 'performance' would you like to personally carry off?

I'm an artist:

Fine arts :painting, drawing, lithographs, intaglio, screen printing, wood cut prints and book arts ( I hand make my own books with my images)

Graphic design: digital media and printed books

What do I hope to do? Be a creative and productive person all my days. Which is a need I have that was unfulfilled during my time with WT.

Most of mine are hobbies but I have made a bit of money doing a couple of things

writing - both academic and prose/poetry (had 2 ebooks for sale on the net)

drawing - mostly pencil sketches

computer graphics

photography

interior decorating and

wearable art (unique one-of-a-kind knitted sweaters)

I hope to do more writing in the future. I have started to gather up much of what I have already written and have several chapters in a biography written although they will need a rewrite badly very soon.

I think art therapy can be an extremely useful tool for people coming out of any traumatic experience. It can often access parts of the brain and memory that is not cognitive or verbal.

A personal arts based workshop for me would have to include my computer - absolutely loaded with graphics software. I want to start playing with video editing.

A professional arts workshop would need to include a sand box and various toys, stuffed animals and puppets, clay, paper and crayons, a doll house and dolls. It would also need to include a soft bat - one of those sponge ones and a wide variety of pillows and a punching bag - not all artistic but once the art brings out the feeling there needs to be a safe way to express it.

As for the "performance" well this might not be considered artistic but I find it is for me - giving lectures. Such a high to talk for an hour or 2 and have the audience interested in wehat you are saying and asking for more at the end. Would love to do it again.

celty...besides the obvious crude forms of art I strive to excell in, I play percussion instruments, paint, do old style graphic arts (all scisors as in real cut and paste), have been known to write poetry...have one poem published in an art review and have sold one painting in my life......as always a work in progress...

Im an expressionist artist.

I do alot of oil paints, sketches and charcoal.

I also have done a degree in graphic art and cartooning.

When I was in the borg, it was all I ever did (in constant states of depression)

Ive sold a few, and was getting really good, but when my life changed (escaping the borg), I didnt feel the need to express my hidden feelings anymore, adn gave it up.

Now, I am just starting again, my husband bought me art supplies last week, adn I have discovered I am even better now than I was, although my art is quite a bit more positive now (I wonder why?)
