Actually, I find myself agreeing with the vast majority of your post content.

That said, the genie isn't out of the bottle yet but the cork is. Science is just too far down the road to finding out how this universe came into being to turn back now. Once it is known why and how the universe was created, god's as good as dead and buried because, what ever the answer is, it sure as hell won't involve god or a deity of any description.

The world's governments may well need religion but what are you gonna do?, zeroise CERN's and MIT's budgets?

I happen to believe that Dawkins is right. Christianity could disappear within a generation. That's all it should take and that's probably all it will take. Why would it take longer?

You only need to look at the ex-communist states to see how quickly communism has been replaced by capitalism. Why should christinsanity take any longer to disappear?

Besides, chistinsanity is on its way out anyway. All it needs is one lasting push and it's game over. Look at the UK. Churches are closing, congregations are dwindling and, instead of one sky pilot looking after a single parish, he now has several to look after - and all are dying on their feet.

What you state in your post is correct, Governments do need religion. People do need hope. They need the belief that a better life is waiting for them after death. Governments don't have the resources to give people a good life now. However, deity based religions will still go down the pan when science discovers how the universe came about. It doesn't matter how much people need to believe in deities. If deities didn't create the universe, then their existence is nullified.

Man needed to believe in deities in order to explain the natural phenomena in the world eg. the wind, tides, rain, thunder, lightning etc. Then christinsanity came along which replaced the old gods. It sought to control Man by creating within him the fear of death, which he didn't have previously.

When science came along, it should have replaced christinsanity. christinsanity should have died. But, it didn't because, through their lies, they had attained complete control. christinsanity held back science and so the changes that should have come at least a hundred years ago, never came. Now, those changes are coming. Man doesn't need christinsanity. christinsanity needs Man.

For the last 2,000 years, man has been using christinsanity as a crutch. The condition that required the crutch (fear of death) was engineered by christinsanity itself. Some of us have found that we don't need the crutch and this movement is growing and spreading.

Man needs to grow up and throw away his crutch. He doesn't need it.

Where's all the money going to come from to help increase the lot of the poor?

From the christstain churches. They have been robbing the poor for centuries. Now it's time to give back what they stole.

Who/what is the richest entity on the planet?

    Apple Corp?

    Nope - the catholic church.

Man didn't evolve to bow down to some non-existent deity. Man doesn't need to believe in some non-existent deity. That was all the work of religions.

Slowly, Man is freeing himself of the shackles that are his religion. Long may it continue.

First, Man must prove to himself that no deity created the universe. Then, freedom will follow.

Cofty: How can a fantasy be dead?

    Obviously it can't.

Nietzsche wasn't talking about the literal death of a real being. Here is an interesting commentary from the Philosophy Index about this famous phrase:

Friedrich Nietzsche writes his famous declaration, God is dead several times throughout his works.

The meaning of the phrase is often misunderstood — many have interpereted that Nietzsche believed in a literal death or end of God. Instead, the line points to the western world’s reliance on religion as a moral compass and source of meaning. As he explains in The Gay Science (Section 125, The Madman):

God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?

    Abiogenesis

The original evolution of life or living organisms from inorganic or inanimate substances: to construct any convincing theory of abiogenesis, we must take into account the condition of the Earth about 4 billion years ago

    The construct of evolution.

Even though science has made extraordinary advances, it still has not found the origin of life. Since science mandates in order for a hypothesis to become a theory, science needs to duplicate the scenario.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenesis

While junior evolutionists here seem to infer without adequate knowledge, this theory has been in the forefront since the 30’s. Book writers here can only defend what they have written without fully understanding the concept of complete evolution.

While some scientist have glorified new breakthroughs such as artificial life, they failed to include from this marvel of science that all that transpired was a modification of existing bacterial cells from the depth of the marina trench.

Genetic manipulation has been around since the 80’s. None of these concepts has duplicated the origins of life, and never will with prominent scientist asserting a higher being as a source.

So the quest for a man made theory through existence from nothing would be equally preposterous.

You forgot to add the word 'YET' to the end of that sentence. Man hasn't found the origin of life YET. But, Man will and, when he does, it wont have anything to do with a deity because they don't exist.

And, just because Man hasn't found the origin of life, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT A SKY WIZARD WAS RESPONSIBLE.

People here may well be 'junior evolutionists' as you put it, but what they aren't are idiots who believe in superstitious nonsense such as god.

So the quest for a man made theory through existence from nothing would be equally preposterous.

Please go away and read about M-theory and whilst your here, perhaps you would like to explain the origins of god?

Perhaps a better question: What Are You Going To Do When Everything You Ever Thought Yourself To Be Is Disproved???

Every thought, idea and belief ever conceived about a tree, is not a tree. Same goes for everything about ourselves.

We constantly focus on the objects of thought, feelings, beliefs, emotions and occurence; and never ever look at what is looking. Who/what are we, really???

What silently observes every and all dynamics that we call our "personal existence"? What?

Hint: the answer can not be written or spoken; but can only be realized and lived.

Doltologist, you still can't speak of disbelief in God in polite circles in most of the US.

You can't talk about politics either because that's boiled down to a religious belief in your political persuasion which is often, like cults, not to be disturbed with pesky facts.

There are parts of the UK where that's true also, especially in small towns and villages where everyone knows everything about everyone else and, what they don't know they make up. That said, I couldn't give a flying fart about convention and being polite. I got past that one long ago.

At least we CAN do it on this forum.
