"I wonder why, when commanded to be fruitful, Adam and Eve were not at it like bunnies.? I am amazed that Eve did not have a bun in the oven straight away."

What makes you think they weren't at it right away? The bible doesn't tell us how soon Adam and Eve sinned after Eve's creation. A few days could have elapsed between her creation and them sinning and her subsequently getting pregnant. Not every act of intercourse results in conception, you know.

They could have had sex, but Eve may not have reached puberty yet.

(If she had, there should have been a prohibition against sex during her period.)

" Actually, I would differ with you on that one point, Island Man . Eve says to the serpent, "God says we will die in the day of our eating it." The serpent says, "You positively will not die." The only way this would not be saying that God was lying is if the serpent knew that God had misspoken earlier. God: "Oh, did I say you would die ? My bad, I meant to say you would cry .""

I'm not denying that Satan's words could be taken as implying that God is a liar. The point that I'm making is that he did not explicitly say so. But JWs are quick to accuse him of lying due to what he implied. Yet the same JWs turn a blind eye to the organization's clear implications that the end is coming in 1975, by saying the org never actually explicitly said it in print. In other words, the org hypocritically takes Satan to task for his insinuations, yet they excuse their own false insinuations about 1975 on the technicality that they never explicitly spelled it out. They judge Satan harshly for his insinuations but hypocritically give themselves a free pass for their own false prophetic insinuations. When it's Satan, insinuations are as good as an outright statement. But when it comes to Watchtower's false prophecies, an insinuation is not as good as an outright statement. They are hypocrites!

Satan said three things would happen if they ate: (1) Eyes opened; (2) Be like God; (3) You will not die.

Genesis 3:22 - "Jehovah God then said: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad. Now in order that he may not put his hand out and take fruit also from the tree of life and eat and live forever"

So Satan was correct, according to Jehovah's word: Their eyes were opened and they had become like God.

    2 out of 3 ain't bad.

This is where we need Fred Franz to come back from the grave and speculate on Eve's menstrual cycle for us.

Actually, if you're asking what the real reason is that they didn't have children right away, this touches on one of the most interesting aspects of the first two chapters of Genesis: the two creation accounts depict two different human races being created.

The nameless humans in the story in chapter 1 were created in God's image. Those were the humans who were told to be fruitful.

The nameless humans in the story in chapter 2 were not created in God's image. They were simple-minded, child-like, until they ate from the forbidden tree of knowledge. This version of the human creation story is thought to continue into chapter 3, where they eat of the tree and are then named Adam and Eve because they were now fated to be "dust" and "life-maker".

So the second human race (as encountered in the current form of Genesis; it's actually the earlier, more primitive creation account) was innocent and guileless. It's only after eating the fruit that they became aware of their sexuality. This was knowledge they were not supposed to have.

The first human race was created in God's image, so needless to say, they were not naive and, as intended by God, they knew perfectly well how to make babies.

So what happened to the first human race?

Ugh. This article is so... elementary. Why in the world are we going to spend an hour on it?

Therefore, now that we have moved beyond the primary doctrine about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying a foundation again, namely, repentance from dead works and faith in God, the teaching on baptisms and the laying on of the hands, the resurrection of the dead and everlasting judgment. - Heb 6:1

So what happened to the first human race?

Plot twist, they were actually the monkeys.

More serious answer: Don't expect that kind of continuity from Genesis. Some poor scribe had a hard enough time verbally gluing together all those different stories, like two Flood accounts, two Red Sea accounts, etc., in order to preserve and reconcile the hallowed words in the old scrolls he'd been given.

A few days could have elapsed between her creation and them sinning

Then that makes the idea of it being a fair test even more laughable.

Of course, all this is moot for the simple fact that the Genesis account never says it was Satan who deceived Eve. It merely says "a serpent". That idea was inserted later by Christians with too much time on their hands and a wild imagination.

I'm not denying that Satan's words could be taken as implying that God is a liar...But JWs are quick to accuse him of lying due to what he implied

It is interesting that JWs will not apply this same standard to their beloved WT/GB as well. Think 1975, generation, etc...a whole lot of "implied"* comments about those subjects from WT.

    .

    * implied = direct, dogmatic statements with god as their source later claimed to be only implications.

After every creative day God proceeds to bless and pronouce his work as good. Why test something if it is already perfect, appearently Jehovah has a suspicious nature and wasn't sure they would be mindless drones so he decides to test them:

Jehovah Blessing Humans. “The blessing of Jehovah—that is what makes rich, and he adds no pain with it.” (Pr 10:22) Jehovah blesses those whom he approves by protecting, prospering(finding lost keys), guiding(WT magazines), giving success(fat refund checks), and supplying their needs(1800 calories per day), with a beneficial outcome for them(aviod being put to death).

*() = addional clarifying statements of intent

Jehovah’s goodwill toward his earthly creations was expressed at the time he brought them forth. To the animal kinds created on the fifth day, God’s blessing was a pronouncement of his purpose regarding them. (Ge 1:22) God’s blessing on Adam and Eve at the end of the sixth day would have enabled them, had they remained obedient, to continue in his favor, because he provided for all their spiritual and material needs.—Ge 1:28; 2:9; 5:2.

After Jehovah had completed his earthly creative work on the six creative days, nothing was lacking for the welfare of his creation

To keep living they needed to obey with out any question what God says. IOW mindless drones. Corporation pay dirt.
