Imitate Jesus convention? Like a theme party? Can we go in costumes dressed as Jesus to make up for all of those missed Halloween costumes? Maybe carry a "torture stake" with NO cross-bar? The women can come as Mary - either one.
And the best part, you come to the opening talk, you suffer the pure torture of a convention talk, and then disappear for 3 days!
That would add some life to those things.
