I think a graceful exit can be achieved (except the shunning, not much you can do about that) by confidently and quietly turning down any elder "assistance", assuring them that you are fine, and you will be in touch if you ever need them.
I get perverse pleasure from watching elders trip overthemselves like the keystone cops.

The more time they waste on you, I figure, is more time away from bothering the rest of the congregation. And perhaps it will be enough for them to reconsider their own involvement. I want it harder and harder for the WTS to find those willing to "lead".
