Angus, it is incredibly mystical you are almost in a trance now just watching Shrodinger's wave. Sam xx
I accept that science cannot prove the non-existence of God. But . . .

Good thread nic, thanks.
BTW, a world without God is a world without sub-atomic particles. Do you see why Adam's question didn't make any sense to me?

It should be a question for both believers and atheists such as......What the would the world look like with/without God?
Okay, so if I answer the question; 'What would the Universe look like with God?' you'll answer the question; 'What would the Universe look like without God?'
Deal?

It's OK Heisenberg's uncertainty principle will wake me out of it............

Why would a world without god be a world without sub-atomic particles?! Sorry I just don't get that, it's sounds like nothing more than a flat assertion to me . . .

Apologies, it is a flat assertion. I am tired, so my blunt side comes out. You have a deal! Post no 4609 is a fair propositon, gimmie a couple of days to consider it porperly. Sam xx

Wow very interesting. Give me the example you are refering to. Was it an electron, proton, neutron or the whole atom? It is my understanding the rotational and vibrational movements are uniform. Which element contained the the hidden anomolies?
There are no hidden anomalies. Hidden variables is a theory ( in science this means fact). Albert Einstein was a huge fan on this concept and this is why he said that "God doesn't play with dice". There is a big difference between free will and indeterminacy.
A subatomic particle can rotate on different axis- i believe 33 of them. It switches between them on the fly and nobody knows why. Perhaps it's truly random or perhaps it's predictable but influenced by something external which humans still don't know.
Anyway, we can be here all day talking about this. The fact is that this stuff is explainable and not some fuzzy divine magic.

He used the word "spooky"see my post 1215 on this thread
He also said the order and uniform was divine. He was a very religious and spiritual man, science without religion is lame redvip, Einstein agrees with me on that too. He has actually got a lot of philosophies in common with me. I am glad he believed in God. Kate xx

Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? " - Douglas Adams
-----
And maybe for some people, those fairies take it from beautiful to magnificent! Or maybe those people see deeper than the surface of that raindrop on a leaf in the garden - and just maybe they see a tear dropped from the eye of a fairy for all those souls who cannot feel the pain of the earth - so disconnected are they from her power.
It's all how you want to look at the world and how you want to co-exist on the planet.
Science it's wonderful - but again, it exists only in today as far as humans are capable of explaining it. Technology is ever changing - attitude is ever changing - societies change - regulation and politics and power change..today one can say that if a God exists it is only in the air or unknown - tomorrow, who knows?
So like the garden - do we have to believe in fairies to make it beautiful? No. It has a beauty all its own - but what harm is there in a God if it also increases the beauty of life for someone and is a power for good?
Often it is said that the God in the bible is a mass murderer who thought nothing slaying innocent people and one argues that this same God cares nothing about the lives of humans else he would not allow such horrible suffering, using that as an argument against a God and in favor of science - then we have chosen to disregard the power that science has had on the earth - including the power to create weapons of mass destruction capable of wiping out the entire human race.
