I think your first mistake was going to Crapper Barrel for breakfast.

I agree, I hate the Cracker Barrel. They put out a decent breakfast but I do not care for their other food. Forget trying to eat healthy, the vegetables are all cooked to death and loaded with grease, and the salads are inedible. I used to go on road trips with a friend buying antiques in the Midwest, she loved the Cracker Barrel, so I had many horrible meals that way. And they do tend to attract the Christian fundamentalist types. I would have asked the staff to tell him to back off, you have a right to eat in peace.

LisaRose, If Florida is still like it was the last time I was down there, it can be challenging to find a restaurant that isn't a Cracker Barrel. Maybe it was the route we took, but it seemed like there was 2 Cracker Barrels at every exit.

We visit Shoney's, Sonny's, local restaurants (find them by hwy signs) or online before we go on vacation.

Having recently been introduced to Cracker Barrel, I would suggest that managemet would have been on the praying guy's side. It's not for nothing called "Cracker" Barrel, IMO. I think it is a southern thing, and I have been "god blessed" by my lovely servers, every time I have gone there (ok, maybe 4 times). Some of merchandise is very Christian oriented. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I just think that the loud Christian has a home field advantage there over the non-believer or the other believer.

Hi confusedandalone, No, you handled as wel as could be expected. Some people believe that everyone should feel the way that they do - narcissit is a narcissit whether they are a christian, atheist, theist, jew, muslim, JW, or whatever belief.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

P.S. - There are a lot better restaurants then Cracker Barrel that serve much better food.

I have gone to Cracker Barrel's and never had anyone try to preach to me, staff or customers. People are there to eat. I would start by talking to the manager. Being in a Christian area down south does not mean you are at risk. I have been to other chains in that area and never had anyone try to preach to me.

I checked with the CB admin and they said that if 2 people wish to discuss spiritual matters that is one issue and that is fine; but if someone forces it on you the best thing to do is talk to the manager and let him/her handle it.
