From the circuit I was formerly in, there were a dozen couples from several congregations who regularly attended meetings and FS. Undetected for years they had rager parties with alcohol and drugs, trips to Vegas, partner swapping, hookers, strippers, porn, etc. They operated under the code see nothing say nothing and if ever confronted...deny deny deny.
Half of them are still in, some reconciled after very public affairs. Some became single and dove into the organization full throttle after DFings and reinstatement.
I believe the double life acted as a narcotic of sorts for them but in the end a lot of them found themselves broken, sticky and confused. The ones that escaped seem to be doing well. At least the facade is no longer a burden to them.
Seems like way to much effort to me to stay in an organization that offers nothing but half truths and blatant lies.
