Yes, of course! I would love to spend all my free time (or time when I could be working to put food on the table) sitting at a metro station giving away free 'bible-based' literature to people who are not interested (and also have to put food on the table). It makes perfect sense!
New Initiatives for Public Witnessing
The use of the term "bible study" by them is a misnomer. Because what they offer is a study of one of their biased publications. They will quote from the bible once in a while.
When some unsuspecting person does request a "bible study", this is what they are really getting.
"Many passersby requested a Bible study."
This is like in the old song 32:
Similar in German, it says about the door-to-door-preaching that "some want to stay like before." So basically, when JWs go witnessing in a village, almost all inhabitants become witnesses, except for "some" who refuse to listen.
" Of course, it’s not at ev’ry door w e find a hearing ear; At times there is a scolding tongue a nd those who will not hear."
Your poor grandson. Strength to you.
