In order to judge mankind with empathy, Jehovah has selected judges who themselves were men.

But, these are special men. The anointed are men who, although weak, sinful and imperfect overcame

these obstacles and lived to glorify Jehovah and died faithful to the end.

To be judged by such persons would give no other humans cause to complain that their judge didn't know what it was like

to be faced with tough times.

These "kings and priests" were "bought" with Jesus' blood. He selects them personally because Jesus is well-acquainted with human misery

and pain and a martyrs death.

These "kings" will rule with knowledge and experience of humanity at its core identity thus serving human needs in a way a spirit king without such

intimate knowledge would be less qualified.

Bottom line? Jehovah wants to be a FAIR judge and He does this by stepping out of the way and letting experienced magistrates do the job.

So if god can't understand us fully, or know us fully, or know just how a human judge would think and act and empathize.... To the point that he needs a spirit who was once fleshly to help... Then he isn't omniscient and he isn't qualified to make rules for people he doesn't fully understand. He also wouldn't be fair in judging humans as the bible says he has done all along, if he can't really understand or know what they went through or what might have caused their decisions.

Good one Terry. I guess James 4:12 is talking about the annointed.

Isn't this what Jesus is supposed to do?

Another thought I always had was why so many rulers ?

Say 14.4 billion people are in the noo system, you end up with 1 ruler for every 100,000 people.

Maybe the new system will be a little rowdy?

Wait - you mean taking the words of illiterate 1st century fishermen as literal leads to logical inconsistencies and nonsensical conclusions?

    Say it ain't so!

What does God need with 144,000? For that matter, "What does God need with a starship?" (JTK, ST5)

Terry are you ok? Did your computer get hacked?

moomanchu good points. Jesus can provide a human perspective. And why are so many kings needed - 1 for every 100,000 people or so? If an angel could kill 185,000 in one night it would seem spirit creatures are more efficient than humans, not less.

Jehovah is not omniscient if he needs human rulers to deliver personally their experience to him, and not omnipotent if he needs help ruling.
