If only I could have realised this in 1981.

I could have been disfellowshipped and thus saved 32 years of wasted life.

Those that left/removed were the lucky ones.

    - I Celtic: "Larry, do you have the scriptures used for the latest wt regarding the slave?"

    From JW.org:

"10 Who, then, is the faithful and discreet slave? In keeping with Jesus’ pattern of feeding many through the hands of a few, that slave is made up of a small group of anointed brothers who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food during Christ’s presence. Throughout the last days, the anointed brothers who make up the faithful slave have served together at headquarters. In recent decades, that slave has been closely identified with the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Note, however, that the word “slave” in Jesus’ illustration is singular, indicating that this is a composite slave. The decisions of the Governing Body are thus made collectively."

Thats all folks! No scriptures. Just a statement. Believe y'all and be saved!

WT 81 makes the statement: "There is no point in trying to force an interpretation of the parable. Self-deception is of no benefit and is spiritually damaging."

Does this mean that this teaching is still damaging? Or that its ok for the GB to decieve us but not ourselves? "We just love this new teaching!" What they really mean is: "Er, actually, a bit of time has passed, so people will forget who actually came up with this new thought and were thrown out with the garbage! Lets nick this idea!"

What a wicked web the Web weaves..

As others have observed simple questions are better than statements.

Possibly we might ask our favourite Watchtower captives to research in the WT library and explain which Bethel faction is apostate:

    Faction A

FDS = all anointed. GB represents FDS. (w81 3/1 pp. 24-26)

    Faction B

FDS = GB alone. Anointed demoted. (w13 7/15 pp. 22)

Questions for honesthearted and thinking JWs:

    1. If the GB told you to disobey the FDS would you?

    2. What if the GB demoted the FDS they have represented for decades, and then suddenly promoted themselves as the FDS?

    3. Is this what has actually just happened? (w13 7/15 pp. 22)

Having family still in this religion, I'm able to see how blinded they are. What should be causing every JW to re-think their religion, the faithful JW believes these changes without any type of scrutiny or critical thinking. These older WTs show how contradictory this religion has been in its teachings. If this was the only major change in this religion, it should be a cause for concern to its members. Yet, this is par for the course - there have been so many major changes to core teachings it's difficult to undertand why or how its members don't see the point: This religion is man-made, a hoax, with self-appointed "leader"! The leaders could care less about the "individual" member. The elderly are neglected and the members justify this neglect (and mind you, scriptural responsiblity!) by insisting that pioneering, meetings, studying, etc. is MORE important. So many JWs are phonies and hypocrites. Many don't have the intelligence to see throug the "New Light" hoax.

    Summarized for one page:

FAITHFUL AND DISCRETE SLAVE = SMALL GROUP, NOT ALL ANOINTED – BIBLICAL!

    Watchtower 2013 July 15 p. 22

Ironically, this idea was directly condemned as spiritually damaging 32 years previously.

FAITHFUL AND DISCRETE SLAVE = SMALL GROUP NOT ALL ANOINTED - UNBIBLICAL!

    Watchtower 1981 March 1 pp.24-26

"Witnesses of Jehovah understand that the "slave" is comprised of all anointed Christians as a group on earth at any given time during the 19 centuries since Pentecost. Accordingly, the "domestics" are these followers of Christ as individuals.

Some readers may feel that this is a rather sectarian view of matters. Or they may object to the idea that the "slave" and the "domestics" represent the same class, one as a composite body and the other as individuals. The objectors may argue that not all of Christ's anointed disciples have a share in preparing the spiritual food, so that perhaps the "slave" pictures only the leading ones, and the "domestics" those they serve in the congregation.

There is no point in trying to force an interpretation of the parable. Self-deception is of no benefit and is spiritually damaging. Therefore, we must look to the Scriptures for an understanding. In doing this, what do we find?

[ ... ] we see a clear Scriptural basis for saying that all anointed followers of Christ Jesus make up God's "servant," with Jesus as its Master."

Let's break this down to its basics.

    1. In 1981, it was so called "objectors” that claimed that the only the governing body was truly the "faithful slave", and the 144,000 anointed could not be part of it because they were not involved in "feeding".

    2. These objectors were labeled self-deceived and causing spiritual damage by forcing an unwarranted interpretation (spiritually tainted food) onto the text while maintaining that there is "clear scriptural basis for saying that all anointed followers of Christ Jesus" ARE the “Slave”

    3. Moving forward 32 years; the governing body prints another Watchtower article; this time saying the exact opposite thing. Now we are shown scripture after scripture that proves that all the anointed ARE NOT part of the "Slave"

Does anyone have scans of the '81 WT Larry referenced in his OP?
