If the rooted cause of the creation of all deities including YHWH comes from mankind's ignorance of himself and the

world of which he lives through imaginative purpose, history has shown that those established beliefs were in most

part detriment to improving the human existence for humanity ..... human ignorance = God(s) = Truth

There is no tangle evidence of a god being on this planet for millions of years, either is there any tangible evidence

that one will show up one day to solve all of mankind's problems.

Based from that knowledge who to say that a creator of the universe actually cares about us (mankind) ???

It appears that we are better off searching out and resolving are problems on are own until one shows up YES ?

Rather than picking out one god from are historical past and waited for that god to make an appearance..

    In my present belief:

    there is a creator

If you can find out HOW IT WORKS, why is it not probable that somebody WORKED at it, to make it? even through a Process like evolution?

This is not about the odds, there either is a creator or not, either result stands unprovable, uneven odds are opinions based on bias. fair enough.

adressing the 50% side of the possibility of a creator, (not any gods past or present we know of) Simon

It is remarkable that he* would

    not demand worship,

    not demand acknowledgement,

    not demand gratitude,

not demand obedience,-- except to respect natural laws which you ignore at your peril.

allows learning through experiments, research, lets results speak for themselves. Does not boast of the ALL.

    Keeps quiet.

I believe these are fine personality traits

If there is such a personality, that worked

because we see, feel, smell, hear his* works.

its time to smell the roses.

You do realize you are saying the proof of gods great personality are all the reasons why he doesn't exist? And what in the world would a god who made everything then let innocent children suffer be doing? Just in a zen mind off in space? Making a new universe to ignore?

You say he doesn't ask for this and that and this and that... Hello, if he isn't there then that's why doesn't ask. If he is there then he is ignoring you. I think you are high or drinking or something.

What are the chances of 'God' actually being a powerful but mortal being, or set of beings who existed in the past, DIED, and now it's smartest creation (that we know of) is left guessing about the universe's origins forever?

Still don't understand the OP, but I'll bite. If there is a creator, he's not a very good one. To top it off he is either uninterested in earth, or powerless. If it is the god of the bible, then he would rather wipe his mistakes clean and start over again and again instead of giving easy to understand readily accessible instructions. What kind of a father would do that?

The creator premise is weak, the creator IN the premise is even weaker.

He has left pretty easy instructions. It is us who complicates those, twisting things to suit or justify what we want to do, or simply because we think something should be complicated when really, it is not so complicated at all.

Listen to His Son. Love God with your whole heart (and one knows Him by knowing His Son, and love), and love your neighbor as yourself. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Give to those who ask of you; don't turn away from those in need.

    Simple.

    Peace,

I think the point the OP was trying to make was that if there is a God then we would have known about it by now...by using the same logic for the existence of UFO's or Ghosts (in this modern age there is not one single encounter, one single photograph or single movie clip that proves they exist which is amazing considering the mobile devices in the world that are cameras) anyone logically minded comes to the conclusion that there is no God simply because there has been zero evidence to suggest there is one.

IF there was one then surely he would want to help mankind in some way and thus reveal himself...

The answer to your question is found in the book Slave Species of God by Michael Tillinger.

    Tammy,

if it was easy then all the earth should and would all worship god happily together. Man lives everywhere and it's not reasonable to think god only cares about Christians. He made all man right? So why did he ignore most of them instead of providing these easy instructions for all?
