The GB brooks no questions or dissention. Their brand of Truth seems quite delicate and incapable of standing up to scrutiny.

Real truth is not delicate. It can stand up to wear or challenge. Only a lie, dressed in the clothing of truth, is so fragile. Anyone who says differently is selling something.
Like I told an elder. "The truth is the truth. Truth is unchanging. That is what makes it the truth."
Truth should have nothing to hide. If the JW's really had the truth, maybe it would actually stand up to any kind of scrutiny. Instead it fails miserably.

I can't find it right now, but there is a WTBTS article that says NOT to scrutinize the truth. It say's that you may reason that truth can stand up to examination, but that is foolish and fleshly.. Something stupid like that.
the truth is both delicate and strong. it would be knowledge of the ultimate reality, the final, all encompassing explanation, it would stand up to any scrutiny.
By calling the cobbled together BELIEFS of the WT BtS "truth" they imply that is that. unassailable, beyond question. If you do, you should be better of dead. Pointer-outers of questioning BELIEFS aka Whistle blowers, do so at their own risk.
Thats why Joseph has two parts in the reward ceremonies. ( if the fable has meaning)
The truth can only be made clearer, not destroyed. Lies need the truth destroyed in order for them to have a chance, but the truth will stand up on its own. This is why the witlesses are not allowed to get a decent education, research using independent sources, or continue a call when the householder is questioning the doctrines. It is also the reason Christi-SCAM-ity is so hellbent on getting into every nook and cranny of the world, destroying all evidence of "pagan" worship, and imposing itself through the world.
Could this also have something to do with the Israelites being ordered to destroy all "pagan" artifacts when they entered [usurped] Canaan's land? Perhaps joke-hova couldn't bear the truth being left untouched, for all to see in future generations so they could rebut the whole Abrahamic paradigm.
Truth is what can be successfully defended. Religion relies on dogma to defend its conclusions.

is it true that a witness is allowed to lie when the person asking the question is not entitled to know the answer ie someone outside of the organisation ?I have read that somewhere and would like some clarification please .

Jhine, yes, that is correct. It is called theocratic warfare. Someone else who knows will need to find what backs that up, because I forget.
