' 1. A usually religious movement or point of view characterized by a return to fundamental principles, by rigid adherence to those principles, and often by intolerance of other views and opposition to secularism.'

No...it doesn't fit...considering he says he would have been conviced that his outer body experience was real if he hadn't had evidence to the contrary...he is open to ideas as long as he can't show ways to prove them wrong. How is that being a fundamentalist anything?

    He is not religious.

He is not rigid...he just hasn't discovered anyone making extraordinary claims to be for real.

He has offered a $1million dollar prize for anyone that can prove they are telling the truth about their powers or claims...so far...hasn't happened.

Seems, they are at least as hospitable, over there as we are. Again, something that doesn't fit w current general christian thinking, that people who die go to judgement and then go to be w jesus or go to hell. In other words, there is rigid control of movement of souls when they enter heaven. True, he had an escort, but she didn't seem to be hindering his movement in any way, perhaps the opposite.

'Course, a christian could always make an argument that god caused his near death cuz he wanted to give him a little tour. What can a person you say to a made up story like that?

its interesting, one time when tripping on LSD I had an out of body experience. i looked right at myself, it was insane. now, i saw that with my own 2 eyes, and it seemed as real as can be, but that doesnt mean it actually happened.

That's the thing about 'christian thinking' there isn't really a general form of it...there are so many different flavours of christian belief....they all think whatever floats their boat...LOL

yourmomma...I had to LOL about your comment...I had some 'interesting' experiences on LSD myself...I can see why shamans liked to use spiritual enhancers to contact the other world....LSD is definately 'other worldly'

Randi isn't open to anything of a nonmaterial/scientific nature. He uses intimidation and trickery to throw his subjects off. He stands to lose a lot of money, if he ever loses. It's not a wonder that few people are willing to step up. If there was a psychic type person who came forward, randi would find a way to make them fail.

LOL...it would appear that even their failing doesn't make them fail in some peoples minds.

People fail all the time, even professionals. That's what sports is based on. The best batter can go up against the best pitcher, and one of them is going to fail. Does that make the guy who failed a failure. I'll grant, though, that there are a lot of fake psychics and whatnot.
